HOMILÍA
Un domingo más hemos sido llamados a ponernos a la escucha de la Palabra de Dios. También a reflexionar sobre ella y a preguntarnos qué es lo que el Señor nos está queriendo decir a todos y a cada uno de nosotros. Son textos del Antiguo y del Nuevo Testamento, historias de un pasado lejano o palabras y dichos de Jesús. En cada uno de ellos hay encerrada una semilla de vida, una enseñanza, una razón para vivir y para esperar, una luz que nos guía en el camino de la vida. En este domingo, veintiuno del tiempo ordinario, nos han salido al encuentro Isaías, San Pablo y el Evangelista San Mateo.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías. Nos ha contado la historia de un misterioso personaje, llamado Sobna. En un momento determinado, le confían una gran responsabilidad, le ponen al frente de la administración. Pero, poco a poco, la tentación de aprovecharse de su cargo en beneficio propio, le puede y roba y malgasta lo que debía cuidar y proteger. Descubierto, es destituido de su cargo. Y le confían a otro la misión. Ponen sobre su hombro las llaves que abren y cierran, es decir, el poder que necesita para ejercer su misión. También a nosotros el Señor nos encomienda una misión en la vida. Seamos buenos administradores de aquello que se nos ha confiado.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de San Pablo a los cristianos de Roma, nos ha hablado de la grandeza y de la majestad de un Dios que es más grande y más poderoso que todos nosotros. Nadie está en condiciones de darle consejos. Es en él en quien estamos llamados a apoyarnos. Es a él al que necesitamos. Reconocer nuestra pequeñez y su grandeza es el primer paso que debemos dar.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo nos ha hablado de una doble pregunta que formula Jesús a los suyos: ¿Quién dice la gente que soy yo? y ¿Quién decís vosotros que soy yo? Esta última pregunta es la que hoy debe resonar con fuerza en nuestros corazones. ¿Quién es para mí Jesús? No valen las respuestas hechas, las que podemos encontrar en los libros o en el testimonio de otros. A la hora de la verdad, en mi día a día, en las decisiones que tomo ¿Qué importancia tiene o le doy a Jesús?
Pedro respondió en su momento: “Tú eres el Mesías” y, como sabemos, recibió del maestro las llaves de una misión: “Tú eres Pedro y sobre esta piedra edificaré mi iglesia” Oremos hoy por el Papa Francisco, su sucesor.
