HOMILÍA
Estamos celebrando el primer domingo del mes de septiembre, el que hace el número veintidós del llamado Tiempo Ordinario. Un mes que traerá la vuelta al trabajo y a las tareas escolares para muchos. Este mes, muchos recibirán también una llamada de las parroquias para incorporarse a la catequesis de preparación para la Primera Comunión o para la Confirmación. Para unos, será su primer año. Para otros, el segundo. Lo que importa es que las familias estén atentas para que los niños y los adolescentes no pierdan la oportunidad de formarse de la mano de los catequistas de las distintas parroquias.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Jeremías. Nos ha contado cómo la llamada que Dios le hizo fue más fuerte que sus deseos. Poco a poco va comprendiendo que su misión no es nada fácil, que se está ganando muchos enemigos; que tiene que alzar la voz cuando lo más cómodo sería callarse, no complicarse la vida. También hoy el Señor quiere suscitar nuevas vocaciones a la vida sacerdotal, religiosa, misionera. Recemos para que la respuesta de muchos sea positiva, aunque la tarea que tengan por delante les traiga problemas.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Romanos, nos invita a ofrecer nuestras vidas como una ofrenda de amor a Dios y a los hermanos. Pidamos conocer la voluntad de Dios sobre cada uno de nosotros; qué es, en definitiva, lo bueno, lo que le agrada, lo perfecto.
El relato del evangelio de Mateo nos ha recordado las palabras de un Jesús que les anuncia con tiempo a los suyos que vendrán los días de la Pasión, de la muerte en la Cruz y también de la Resurrección. Algo que no es fácil de aceptar para Pedro y el resto de los Apóstoles que reciben un toque de atención por parte de Jesús. También ellos, y nosotros hoy, estamos llamados a tomar nuestra cruz y seguirle. Que él nos ayude.
