HOMILÍA
Estamos terminando el mes de agosto. El mes de septiembre nos abrirá las puertas de un nuevo curso escolar, pero también pastoral. Comenzará la inscripción para la catequesis de primera Comunión y para la de la Confirmación. Será hora de abrir el corazón y disponernos a servir al Señor allí donde él nos quiera poner. Deberemos hacerle esta pregunta. “Señor, ¿cuál es mi lugar en la comunidad cristiana? ¿Qué quieres que haga por ti y por todos mis compañeros de peregrinación? Con los dones, talentos y cualidades que has puesto en mi humilde persona ¿qué esperas de mí? Te pido que me muestres la respuesta.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Deuteronomio. Nos ha recordado que es bueno escuchar cuáles son los preceptos y mandatos que debemos cumplir. Y esto, con ser importante, no será suficiente si, además, no cumplimos, con obras y de verdad, ese precepto y ese mandato. Sepamos, pues, lo que debemos hacer pero, sobre todo, hagámoslo. Sólo así, quienes observen nuestra vida, podrán animarse a hacer lo mismo. Las palabras convencen pero el ejemplo arrastra.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de Santiago, nos ha venido a insistir en la misma idea: “Acoged con docilidad esa palabra, que ha sido injertada en vosotros y es capaz de salvar vuestras vidas. Poned en práctica la palabra y no os contentéis con oírla, engañándoos a vosotros mismos.” Admirarnos de la grandeza de los preceptos de nuestra religión no nos servirá a de nada si no hacemos todo lo posible por hacerlos realidad en nuestras relaciones con los demás y con el Señor.
El relato del evangelio de Marcos nos ha recordado unas palabras del profeta Isaías: “Este pueblo me honra con los labios pero su corazón está lejos de mí.” Escuchemos y cumplamos de corazón lo aprendido. Seamos cristianos de verdad poniendo el corazón en lo que vivimos
