HOMILÍA
Hemos comenzado el mes de septiembre. Y, en este primer domingo, la Palabra de Dios ha vuelto a resonar en nuestros oídos en su camino hacia nuestra mente y nuestro corazón. ¡Qué bueno es saber que el Señor nos habla cada día, cada domingo! A veces, sus palabras son duras y exigentes. Otras, están llenas de ternura, de compasión, de misericordia. No faltan tampoco esas que nos hablan de esperanza, de un futuro mejor, que alivian nuestros males presentes. Pero siempre, siempre, Él estará a nuestro lado, compartiendo nuestros dolores y nuestros gozos más íntimos.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías. Los que escucharon en su día estas palabras, se sintieron reconfortados: “Sed fuertes, no temáis. Llega el desquite. El Señor viene en persona y os salvará”. Las enfermedades y las limitaciones propias de todo ser humano, dejarán paso a una plenitud gozosa. ¡Qué bien nos vienen a nosotros, inmersos en la pandemia del coronavirus, estas palabras de ánimo, de aliento! Todo pasará. El futuro será mejor. Y en los buenos y en los malos momentos, el Señor será nuestro apoyo.
La segunda lectura, de la carta del Apóstol Santiago, nos ha recordado que no podemos tratar mejor a las personas que tienen más medios económicos que aquellas otras que viven en la pobreza; ni dentro del templo, ni fuera de él. Y esto, porque Dios ha tomado partido por los pobres y los necesitados. Ellos son sus preferidos.
El relato del evangelio de Marcos nos ha contado la curación de “un sordo que, además, apenas podía hablar.” Jesús hace realidad así las palabras del profeta Isaías. Pidámosle que abra nuestros oídos a su mensaje y que nuestra lengua lo proclame a todo el mundo. “Todo lo ha hecho bien, decía la gente: hace oír a los sordos y hablar a los mudos.”
