HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas del primer domingo de septiembre, veintitrés del tiempo ordinario. Un domingo que nos habla de la vuelta al colegio de los más pequeños y al trabajo de los más mayores. Un domingo que llama a los niños y a los jóvenes para que se apunten a la catequesis de preparación para la primera comunión o para recibir el sacramento de la confirmación. Los padres deben estar atentos a esta convocatoria que se va a hacer desde las parroquias. Tomemos en serio esta propuesta y pongámonos en contacto con nuestra parroquia.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de la Sabiduría. Varias frases nos llaman la atención: “¿Qué hombre conocerá el designio de Dios?, o ¿quién se imaginará lo que el Señor quiere? Si apenas vislumbramos lo que hay sobre la tierra y con fatiga descubrimos lo que está a nuestro alcance, ¿quién rastreará lo que está en el cielo? ¿Quién conocerá tus designios, si tú no le das sabiduría y le envías tu santo espíritu desde lo alto?” Pidamos al Señor esa Sabiduría tan necesaria.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a Filemón, nos ha recordado una breve carta que el apóstol escribe a su amigo. Todo parece indicar que un esclavo de Filemón, huido de su amo, se había encontrado en la cárcel con San Pablo y se había hecho cristiano. El apóstol le escribe a su amigo para que le acoja de nuevo, pero esta vez no como esclavo sino como un hermano querido. Esto es lo que se espera de nosotros: que a nadie consideremos esclavo nuestro, porque todos somos hermanos queridos.
El relato del evangelio de Lucas nos ha hablado de cómo el optar por Jesús nos exige ponerle a él en primer lugar por encima de nuestros seres queridos y de nuestros bienes más preciados. Decidirnos por Jesús implica tomar su cruz y seguirle. Y, porque no es fácil hacerlo, pensemos si tenemos las fuerzas necesarias que siempre deberemos pedirle.
