HOMILÍA
En este primer domingo del mes de septiembre, a punto de comenzar el curso escolar en los colegios y en los institutos y el curso pastoral en las Parroquias, hemos escuchado la Palabra de ese Dios que nos habla al corazón, que nos anima, que nos alienta, que nos dice una mil veces: “No temas. No tengas miedo. Yo estoy contigo”. Vamos a hacerle caso. Vivamos con paz nuestro “día a día”. Esforcémonos por dar lo mejor de nosotros mismos como ciudadanos y como miembros de la comunidad eclesial.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Ezequiel. Él se siente llamado a ejercer de profeta en medio de su pueblo. Su tarea no va a ser fácil porque, en ocasiones, tendrá que alzar su voz por los malos comportamientos de muchos y, eso, no es agradable para nadie. También en nuestros días los padres, los profesores, los que tienen alguna responsabilidad sobre los demás, están llamados a corregir conductas de sus hijos, de sus alumnos, por su bien. No pueden desentenderse de esta misión. Recemos para que esta labor se realice siempre como Dios quiere: con el mayor cariño y ternura posibles.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de San Pablo a los cristianos de Roma, nos ha recordado algo que todos nos debemos los unos a los otros: “A nadie le debáis nada más que amor mutuo.” Los cristianos somos conscientes de que nuestro signo distintivo es el amor y que el que ama está cumpliendo la ley entera, todos los mandamientos. El que ama a su prójimo no le hace daño de ninguna de las maneras. Preguntémonos qué es lo que podemos hacer para que, la vida de aquellos que están a nuestro lado, sea lo más agradable posible.
El evangelio de Mateo nos ha hablado de la corrección fraterna. Es un acto de caridad, pero, si al corregir, nos sentimos superiores a los demás, si les humillamos delante de otros, si les herimos con nuestras palabras, si les condenamos, si solo vemos lo malo que hay en ellos…no estamos siendo fieles al pensamiento de Jesús. Corregir con amor, con delicadeza, con ternura, en privado, sabiendo que no somos mejores que nadie, sintiendo el mismo dolor que el hermano está sintiendo al escucharnos…es la mejor forma de hacerlo. Pidamos al Señor que nos enseñe a corregir al hermano, cuando sea necesario, y a aceptar con humildad su corrección, cuando seamos nosotros los necesitados de la misma.
