HOMILÍA
Los cristianos tenemos una cita cada domingo con Jesús y con la comunidad cristiana a la que pertenecemos. En esta cita, una de las cosas más importantes que hacemos es escuchar juntos la Palabra de Dios, reflexionar sobre lo que nos dice a cada uno y buscar el mejor modo y manera de llevarlo a la práctica. Volvamos sobre nuestros pasos, recordemos lo que nos ha sido proclamado en este domingo, veinticinco del tiempo ordinario. Si cada uno de nosotros pone de su parte todo lo necesario para ser fieles a lo que Dios espera de él, la comunidad será un hogar abierto en el que todos podrán encontrar refugio, un lugar cálido al que dirigir sus pasos.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de la Sabiduría. El autor quiere animar a los que se esfuerzan por ser justos y buenos; sobre todo, cuando llegan las horas de la prueba, de la crítica de quienes siguen otros caminos contrarios y piensan, incluso, en destruirles, en eliminarles. El que quiere andar por el buen camino sabe que puede ser atacado por quienes han optado por el camino del mal, porque su conducta constituye un duro reproche para ellos. Seamos fieles a lo que creemos que es justo y bueno, no tengamos miedo a las reprimendas que podamos recibir por ello y oremos para que nuestros detractores puedan cambiar de conducta. Dios escuchará nuestra plegaria.
La segunda lectura ha sido, una semana más, del apóstol Santiago. Hoy nos hablaba de lo que destruye la convivencia en el seno de la sociedad: las envidias, las rivalidades, los conflictos, las guerras, la codicia. Nosotros, los cristianos, estamos llamados a procurar la paz, a sembrarla a nuestro alrededor. Una paz que dará, como fruto, la justicia. Seamos hombres y mujeres de paz, constructores de puentes entre posiciones enfrentadas. No echemos leña al fuego de la discordia. Recemos para que Dios nos inspire sentimientos de compasión y de misericordia para con todos. Sepamos ceder, aceptar al otro como es, recorrer juntos los caminos de la reconciliación y del perdón.
El relato del evangelio de San Marcos también ha incidido en este tema. Los mismos apóstoles habían caído en la trampa de discutir quién de ellos era el más importante, el mejor. Jesús les llama la atención: “El que quiera ser el primero, el más importante, que sea el último de todos y el servidor de todos.” ¡Qué bien nos vienen a todos escuchar, de nuevo, estas palabras de Jesús porque todos, de una forma o de otra, nos creemos más y mejores que los demás! Seamos como Jesús, servidores de todos. No busquemos los primeros puestos, los lugares que dan prestigio y fama a los ojos de los demás; porque la importancia, para un cristiano, no nos viene dada por el puesto alcanzado sino por la actitud de servicio y de entrega que sepamos adoptar.
