HOMILÍA
Este domingo, veinticinco del tiempo ordinario, nos trae enseñanzas que debemos aprender a hacer nuestras. Es bueno, por eso, volver sobre los textos escuchados, meditarlos y tratar de vivir el mensaje que encierra cada uno de ellos. También los más pequeños de nuestra comunidad que se preparan para hacer la primera comunión y los jóvenes que tienen la vista puesta en la confirmación, están llamados a ir conociendo, poco a poco, lo que los adultos ya sabemos.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Amós. Un hombre sencillo que trabaja la tierra, pero a quien Dios le ha dado un corazón y una mente que le hace tomar conciencia de la gran diferencia que existe entre los ricos y los pobres. Sus palabras son duras para todos aquellos que, teniendo de sobras, no saben compartir con quienes carecen de lo más necesario. Sus palabras también van dirigidas a cada uno de nosotros. Tomemos conciencia de la pobreza de tantos y, en la medida que podamos, sepamos hacerles llegar nuestra ayuda solidaria.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a Timoteo, insiste en la obligación de rezar por aquellos que ejercen algún tipo de autoridad para que, los que dependen de ellos, puedan vivir una vida tranquila y en paz. Recemos por todos: por las autoridades, por los necesitados, por aquellos de quienes nadie se acuerda, porque Dios quiere que todos los hombres se salven y lleguen al conocimiento de la verdad.
El relato del evangelio de Lucas nos ha venido a decir que no es posible servir a dos amos. Jesús nos hablaba de Dios y del dinero. Deberemos elegir a cuál de los dos queremos dedicar nuestra vida porque, a los dos a la vez, no es posible. El dinero es necesario, sí, pero bueno es que lo pongamos al servicio de la causa de Dios: es decir, a los pobres, los hambrientos, a lo que no tienen lo necesario para vivir.
