HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas de este primer domingo de octubre. Un mes que los cristianos dedicamos, de una manera especial, a honrar, venerar, e invocar a Santa María, nuestra Madre, bajo esas advocaciones entrañables de Virgen del Rosario y de Virgen del Pilar. Un mes en el que traemos a nuestra memoria a tantos misioneros y misioneras que están anunciando el mensaje de Jesús en todo el mundo. En la fiesta del Domund les recordaremos, rezaremos por ellos y haremos una colecta para ayudarles en su tarea de promoción humana y evangelizadora.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Habacuc. La realidad que tiene delante es deprimente: violencia, destrucción, disputas, contiendas, luchas. Y, desde el fondo de su corazón, surge una plegaria que es un grito de protesta. Pero él sabe que, al final, llegará la paz. Es necesario, pues, que vaya creciendo en el pueblo una inmensa confianza en ese Dios que no les abandona. También nosotros podemos vivir situaciones difíciles. Tengamos paz. Estamos en las manos de Dios.
La segunda lectura ha sido de San Pablo a Timoteo. También en este caso, nos dice, la realidad puede ser complicada y va a ser necesario que reavivemos la gracia de Dios, la fortaleza, el amor y la templanza. Se nos pide a los cristianos de todos los tiempos que no nos avergoncemos de Jesús; que demos testimonio de él, aunque eso nos suponga esfuerzo, dolor y sufrimiento. Que guardemos cuidadosamente el depósito sagrado de la Fe que un día recibimos en nuestro bautismo.
El evangelio de Lucas nos ha recordado una petición que brotó con fuerza en el grupo de los apóstoles: ¡“Auméntanos la Fe”! La verdad es que no es fácil creer cuando todo parece estar en contra. Por eso, que esta sea hoy también nuestra petición al Señor: Auméntanos esa fe que nos haga confiar en ti, aunque, la realidad que vivamos, no nos ayude.
