HOMILÍA
Hace apenas dos días, nuestra comunidad cristiana era invitada a reunirse aquí en la Iglesia para hacer memoria de Santa María, nuestra Madre, bajo esa advocación tan querida, por todos nosotros, de Virgen del Pilar. El próximo domingo nos reuniremos de nuevo para celebrar el DOMUND, el domingo de las misiones, de los misioneros. Haremos la tradicional colecta para seguir haciendo posible la inmensa labor evangelizadora y humanitaria que ellos realizan en nuestro nombre. No podemos permanecer ajenos hoy al drama de la guerra que está afectando, en más o menos medida, a distintos pueblos de la tierra.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías. Sueña con un futuro de felicidad para todos los pueblos reunidos en torno a un banquete. Cuando estos días, los medios de comunicación nos hablan de muertos y heridos, de familias rotas, de casas destruidas, recemos para que ese futuro, soñado por el profeta, no deje de hacerse realidad. La oración puede mucho y, la oración de todos, hará posible el milagro de una convivencia en paz y en armonía que tantas veces se nos escapa.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los cristianos de Filipos, nos ha recordado una frase que nos debe llenar de una inmensa confianza, aunque el futuro no sea halagüeño: “Todo lo puedo en aquel que me conforta.” El que nos da fuerzas es Jesús, el llamado “Príncipe de la Paz.” Pidamos esa fuerza para que florezca esa “plena armonía de relaciones entre los hombres y entre los pueblos” que denominamos Paz.
El relato del evangelio de Mateo nos ha hablado de la invitación que todos recibimos, de parte de Dios, para acudir al banquete de la boda de su hijo. El banquete es signo de felicidad pero, la libertad de cada uno, hace que se pueda rechazar el acudir. Dejémonos invitar, acudamos a ese banquete que llenará de alegría nuestro corazón.
