HOMILÍA
Un día más, la Palabra de Dios ha llegado hasta nosotros. Las lecturas de este domingo, veintiocho del tiempo ordinario, nos invitan a la reflexión sobre toda una serie de temas importantes para nuestra vida cristiana: la oración de petición, la acción de gracias cuando hemos logrado nuestro objetivo, el seguimiento de Jesús, la cercanía que debemos mostrar con las personas que sufren a nuestro lado, la mano tendida hacia cualquiera que la necesite; el hacer todo el bien que podamos, sin buscar ningún tipo de recompensa. Y, todo esto, en el recuerdo de la celebración que hemos dedicado a nuestra Madre, la Virgen María, bajo esa advocación, tan entrañable, de Virgen del Pilar.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del segundo libro de los Reyes y nos ha contado un episodio que traspasó las fronteras del pueblo de Israel. Un extranjero, conocedor de los poderes curativos del profeta Eliseo, solicita su ayuda para curarse de la enfermedad de la lepra. Cuando esta curación se produce, el sentimiento de gratitud aflora y quiere recompensar a quien la ha hecho posible. El profeta renuncia a esa recompensa porque sabe que, si el milagro se ha producido, no ha sido por su propio poder, sino por el de Dios. El extranjero quiere mantener la relación con ese Dios llevándose un carga de tierra sobre la que, una vez llegado a su país, pueda invocarle. Hacer el bien al que está a nuestro lado y no buscar ningún tipo de recompensa es algo que, también nosotros, estamos llamados a realizar.
La segunda lectura, de S. Pablo a su amigo y discípulo Timoteo, nos ha hablado de Jesús resucitado que es la Buena Noticia, el evangelio, que el apóstol está predicando por todas partes, con grandes dificultades, es verdad, porque su deseo es que, todos, puedan alcanzar la salvación lograda por Cristo Jesús. No se olvida el apóstol de recordarle a su amigo una gran verdad que los cristianos no deberíamos olvidar nunca: “Si morimos con Jesús, viviremos con Él.” Hagamos memoria de este Jesús resucitado que nos ha hecho la promesa de reservarnos un lugar, junto a Él, en ese lugar que es su casa del cielo.
El relato del evangelio de San Lucas nos ha presentado un hecho que nos llama poderosamente la atención: diez leprosos se encuentran con Él y le piden su curación. Cuando esta se produce, Jesús les recuerda que deben presentarse ante el sacerdote correspondiente, porque es el que debe certificar que la curación ha tenido realmente lugar. Un certificado que les permitirá reintegrarse de nuevo en el pueblo del que habían estado separados mientras estaban enfermos. El episodio termina con la gratitud mostrada por uno de ellos y el olvido de los nueve restantes. Pidamos al Señor lo que necesitemos, pero sepamos ser también agradecidos cuando se haya cumplido nuestra petición.
