HOMILÍA
En vísperas de la fiesta de Nuestra Señora del Pilar que celebraremos con un gran gozo interno aunque, eso sí, sin la solemnidad y los actos festivos populares que otros años la acompañaban, hemos escuchado hoy las lecturas propias del domingo veintiocho del tiempo ordinario. Un domingo que, como todos, nos trae un mensaje del Padre Dios para cada uno de nosotros. Preguntémonos ¿qué me está diciendo el Señor a mí, al escuchar las palabras del profeta Isaías, de San Pablo y del Evangelio de San Mateo?
La primera lectura la hemos tomado, como decimos, del profeta Isaías. Seguramente rec0noceremos el texto porque se proclama muchas veces en los funerales, en las despedidas de los hermanos que son llamados a la casa del Padre. El presente que vivió el profeta no siempre fue bueno: había guerras, tristezas, destierro, sufrimiento y se siente en la necesidad de lanzar un mensaje esperanzador: el Señor enjugará las lágrimas de todos los rostros, aniquilará la muerte para siempre y nos preparará un banquete en el que todos nos sentiremos felizmente hermanados los unos con los otros. Tampoco nuestro presente es bueno: la pandemia sigue estando presente entre nosotros. Dirijamos nuestra mirada al Señor y pidámosle que abra nuestro corazón a la esperanza, a ese banquete, a esa felicidad que añoramos.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Cristianos de Filipos, hemos escuchado el testimonio del Apóstol que les dice que él sabe vivir en la pobreza y en la abundancia, en la hartura y en el hambre. ¡Ojalá que nosotros también afrontemos, lo que nos depare la vida, con paz y con fortaleza! Que no flaquee nuestra fe cuando las cosas nos vengan mal dadas y que no nos olvidemos del Señor cuando todo sonría a nuestro alrededor. Que sepamos compartir con los que lo necesitados.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo nos ha contado la parábola de los invitados a la boda. Muchos pusieron escusas o, simplemente, se negaron a acudir. Fue entonces cuando la invitación se hizo más abierta a todos los que pasaban por los cruces de los caminos, a los que jamás habían pensado que podían ser invitados. La sala del banquete se llenó de comensales. El Señor nos invita, nos llama, nos convoca a su presencia para hacernos compartir su misma felicidad. ¿Le diremos que no? ¿Nos negaremos a acudir a su llamada o aceptaremos compartir la mesa de la fraternidad con tantos hermanos nuestros e hijos suyos?
