HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado palabras importantes, palabra conocidas del profeta Isaías, de San Pablo y del propio Jesús. Y lo hemos hecho en este día del Domund, del Domingo Mundial de la Propagación de la Fe, del domingo de las misiones. Hoy, en todas las parroquias, en todas las comunidades cristianas del mundo, recordamos, ponemos de nuevo junto al corazón, la labor ingente de tantos miles y miles de misioneros y misioneras que, cualquier lugar del mundo, están anunciando el mensaje de Jesús y colaborando en el desarrollo social y humano de esos pueblos en los que se anuncia el evangelio. La labor misionera de la Iglesia nos habla de evangelio y de lucha contra todo tipo de pobreza; de proclamación de la Buena Noticia y de construcción de escuelas, hospitales, dispensarios…
Junto al recuerdo, hemos de poner tambiénla oración. Rezar por las misiones, por los misioneros, por las comunidades que se van formando. Rezar, porque necesitan sentir el apoyo de toda la Iglesia. Rezar porque, en algunos sitios, esos misioneros y esas comunidades cristianas están sufriendo una durísima persecución, como actualmente en algunas partes de Oriente Medio. Rezar porque, rezando, podemos ser también misioneros. Los santos patronos de las misiones son dos: San Francisco Javier y Santa Teresita del niño Jesús. El primero recorrió incontables territorios en Asia. La segunda no salió de su convento de clausura de Lisieux. También podemos apadrinar a un misionero, ofrecer por él nuestra plegaria, hacer nuestra su causa. Y, aun cuando nunca lleguemos a conocernos, un hilo invisible nos unirá y, uno en primera línea y otro desde aquí, iremos haciendo realidad la proclamación del evangelio y la construcción de la Iglesia.
El recuerdo, la oración y también la colaboración económica. Hoy se hace una colecta para que estos misioneros puedan seguir anunciando el mensaje de Jesús y haciendo realidad tantas obras de promoción social y humana en países del tercer mundo. No les dejemos solos. Hagamos posible su labor. Dejemos que hable el corazón. A la hora de colaborar, de compartir nuestro dinero, no nos contentemos con unas migajas. Sepamos ser generosos, conscientes de las palabras de Jesús: “Hay más felicidad en dar que en recibir. Más dichoso es el que da que el que recibe.”
El Papa Francisco termina el Mensaje para el Domund de este año diciendo: “A María, modelo de evangelización humilde y alegre, dirigimos nuestra oración, para que la Iglesia, casa de puertas abiertas, se convierta en un hogar para muchos, una madre para todos los pueblos y haga posible el nacimiento de un nuevo mundo”.
