HOMILÍA
Los días de este tiempo cuaresmal van pasando y es bueno que nos preguntemos si lo estamos aprovechando como es debido: Si rezamos más y mejor, si nos acercamos al sacramento de la confesión, si leemos y escuchamos la Palabra de Dios, si ayudamos a los necesitados, si estamos cerca de los que sufren. No dejemos el cambio de vida para el final. Como nos dice San Pablo en una de sus cartas: “Hoy es el tiempo favorable, hoy es el día de la salvación.” Y como nos apunta uno de nuestros dichos populares: “No dejemos para mañana lo que podamos hacer hoy.” Que no se demore, pues, nuestra vuelta al Señor.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Génesis y nos ha contado la vocación de Abrahán, nuestro padre en la fe. Un día recibe en su corazón una llamada apremiante: “Sal de tu tierra, de tu patria y de la casa de tu padre, hacia la tierra que te mostraré”. También a nosotros nos dice el Señor: “Sal de tu situación de pecado y de mal y ponte en camino hacia una nueva realidad en la que el amor a Dios y a los demás ocupen el primer lugar.” Nos costará, como el costó a Abrahán, pero merecerá la pena y nos llenará de alegría y de felicidad.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a Timoteo, nos ha recordado que toda Cuaresma, implica un tomar parte en los padecimientos por el evangelio. Es decir, que ser cristianos nos ha de llevar a proclamar la Buena Noticia de Jesús con nuestras palabras pero también con el testimonio de nuestra vida. Anunciar el evangelio es tarea de todos.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo nos ha hablado de la transfiguración. Muy poco tiempo antes de que llegaran los días de la Pasión y de la Muerte, Jesús tiene con algunos discípulos un gesto que pretendía llenarles de fortaleza. Pidamos al Señor que nos llene también a nosotros de esa misma fortaleza. La necesitamos para cambiar.
