HOMILÍA
¡Cuántas fiestas, cuántos domingos, finales y comienzos de un año, nos reúnen a los cristianos en este tiempo de Navidad! Hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del segundo domingo de este tiempo. Participa, como no podía ser de otra manera, de todos los sentimientos que estos días inundan nuestros corazones. Una vez más, decimos con gozo: “Jesús ha nacido, se ha hecho uno de nosotros, ha compartido la fragilidad y la limitación de todo ser humano. Gracias, Señor, por convertirte en un compañero de camino. De ese camino que, a veces, nos resulta difícil de transitar. Tú nos darás la fuerza que necesitamos”.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Eclesiástico, un libro del Antiguo Testamento que nos viene a hablar de ese Mesías, de ese esperado, que plantará su tienda en medio de las nuestras. ¡Cuántas veces pensamos que Dios está lejos, que no sentimos el calor de su presencia, que estamos solos y desamparados, dejados de su mano! Esta lectura nos recuerda, sin embargo, que Dios ha querido ser un Enmanuel, un Dios con nosotros; que es nuestro vecino, nuestro amigo, que viene a curar las heridas de nuestra debilidad.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Efesios, nos ha mostrado todo un programa de vida para este nuevo año que acaba de comenzar: “El Padre Dios nos eligió en Cristo para que fuésemos santos e intachables ante Él por el amor”. Tenemos por delante trescientos sesenta y cinco días para hacer de nuestra vida una ofrenda de amor.
El relato del evangelio de Juan, utilizando, quizás, un lenguaje más misterioso y simbólico, nos ha venido a decir lo mismo que los otros evangelistas: Que el Verbo, que Jesús, se hizo carne y que habitó entre nosotros. No hay aquí Pastores ni Magos, pero sí el mismo acontecimiento fundamental: Dios hecho hombre habita entre nosotros.
