HOMILÍA
Celebra hoy la Iglesia el segundo domingo de Pascua. También conocido como “Domingo de la Divina Misericordia”. Fue instituido, como tal, por el Papa San Juan Pablo II. Nuestro mundo, sacudido este año por la pandemia del Coronavirus necesita, más que nunca, del auxilio de la Divina Misericordia. La imagen con la que se le representa es la de un Jesús Resucitado de cuya herida del costado brotan rayos de luz para llenarnos de paz y de amor a todos y a cada uno de nosotros. Imploremos su ayuda para nosotros, para nuestras familias, para nuestro pueblo, para el mundo entero.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del Libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles y nos ha descrito cómo vivían los primeros cristianos: “Los hermanos perseveraban en la enseñanza de los apóstoles, en la comunión, en la fracción del pan y en las oraciones”. Aprendamos de ellos y, en este tiempo que nos toca vivir, perseveremos en el conocimiento de las enseñanzas que encontramos en los evangelios; vivamos en común unión los unos con los otros; participemos habitualmente en la celebración de la Eucaristía y juntémonos para orar conscientes de las palabras del propio Jesús: “Donde dos o tres estén reunidos en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos.”
La segunda lectura, de la primer carta del Apóstol Pedro, nos ha hablado de cómo debemos hacer un esfuerzo para vivir en la alegría, aún en medio de las pruebas por las que tengamos que pasar. El virus, que nos mantiene confinados en nuestras casas, puede llevarnos a sentirnos hundidos, desesperanzados, tristes. Bueno es que nos animemos los unos a los otros. Que cuando uno cae, el otro esté presto para levantarlo, como dice uno de nuestros cantos más populares.
El relato del evangelio de San Juan nos ha presentado dos momentos complementaos. En el primero, Jesús se aparece a los suyos y trata de convencerlos de que realmente ha resucitado, que no es un fantasma o un sueño. Come con ellos y les invita a tocarle. En el segundo, el protagonista es el Apóstol Tomas, el que, no habiendo estado la vez anterior, se niega a creer que Jesús ha resucitado realmente. Cuando Jesús vuelve a hacerse presente, le llama y le invita a poner sus manos en las llagas del costado. Tomás se postrará a los pies de Jesús y dirá esa frase que tantos repetimos en algún momento: “Señor mío y Dios mío”
