HOMILÍA
Estamos metidos de lleno en el llamado Tiempo Pascual, cincuenta días en los que vamos a seguir haciendo memoria del hecho central de nuestra Fe: la Resurrección de Jesús. Sabemos que Jesús se fue apareciendo, poco a poco, “a los testigos que él había designado”. Entre ellos, a sus amigos los Apóstoles. Solo así iba a ser posible que llegaran a convencerse plenamente de que, realmente, había resucitado.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles y nos ha contado cómo, la primera comunidad cristiana, ya sin la presencia visible del Maestro, se dedicaba a hacer el bien, a llevar una vida intachable, a curar a los enfermos. Así creían responder a la misión que se les había encomendado. La gente les admiraba y, esa admiración, llevaba a muchos a convertirse en seguidores de Jesús. ¡Ojalá que se pueda decir lo mismo de cada uno de nosotros en la actualidad! ¡Ojalá que sepamos ser buenos testigos de aquel en quien creemos! ¡Ojalá que nuestro testimonio convenza a muchos!
La segunda lectura, del libro del Apocalipsis, nos ha recordado una frase, atribuida a Jesús, que hoy nos pueda llenar de confianza: “No temas; yo soy el Primero y el Último, el Viviente; estuve muerto, pero ya ves: vivo por los siglos de los siglos.” Los cristianos creemos en Alguien que está vivo. En algo se tiene que notar. No lo olvidemos.
El relato del Evangelio ha tenido dos partes: una, en la que se aparece Jesús a los apóstoles con un saludo de paz y en la que les da el poder de perdonar los pecados y, otra, en la que la presencia del apóstol Tomás, ausente la primera vez, le da ocasión a Jesús de que todos puedan hacer una acto de fe en su resurrección. Las manos de Tomás, tocando las llagas de Jesús, nos recuerdan la conocida frase: “¿Por qué me has visto has creído? Dichosos los que crean sin haber visto.” Como nosotros
