HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas de este tercer domingo de Adviento. Un domingo que recibe el nombre de “Gaudete”, palabra que significa gozo, alegría. Y es que, aunque el tiempo del adviento sea un tiempo penitencial que busca un cambio de vida, de actitudes y de comportamientos, hoy, ante la proximidad de la celebración del nacimiento de Jesús, sentimos la alegría de saber que ya está cerca y esa noticia ha de poner calor y ternura en nuestros corazones.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías y nos ha descrito cómo será el Mesías, cómo será Jesús: “Me ha enviado para dar la buena noticia a los pobres, para curar los corazones desgarrados, proclamar la amnistía a los cautivos, y a los prisioneros la libertad; para proclamar un año de gracia del Señor.” Si esta va a ser la misión del Mesías, también ha de ser la nuestra. ¡Cuántas necesidades, cuántos corazones heridos, cuántos cautivos de tantas cosas, cuántos necesitados de ser liberados, cuántos buscadores y soñadores de un año de gracia, de paz y de bien! Pensemos qué podemos hacer nosotros para ayudar.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los cristianos de Tesalónica, nos hablaba de que, guardándonos de toda clase de mal, sepamos vivir en la alegría y contagiarla a los demás. Que no dejemos de orar. Que busquemos lo bueno. Que sepamos ser agradecidos. Que la paz habite en nuestros corazones. Solo así estaremos en condiciones de recibir al Jesús que viene en la Navidad.
El relato del Evangelio, esta vez de San Juan, nos ha recordado la figura de del Bautista. Ese hombre austero, que predica un bautismo de conversión, pero que sabe que su misión es llevar, a los que le escuchan, hasta Jesús. Nosotros debemos ser conscientes también de que nuestra tarea es poner, a los que conviven con nosotros, en contacto con Jesús.
