HOMILÍA
Las lecturas de este tercer domingo del tiempo ordinario nos sitúan en el centro de la Cuaresma. No dejemos pasar el tiempo sin pena ni gloria. Pidamos al Señor que nos ayude a preparar nuestro corazón para poder celebrar dignamente la fiesta de la Pascua. Y que esa oración se extienda también a tantos hermanos cristianos de Irak que, en estos días, reciben la visita del Papa Francisco. Que el gozo de la Pascua se abra paso entre ellos, después de haber vivido tantos años de viernes santos de dolores, sufrimientos y muertes.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Éxodo. Como hemos podido comprobar, nos ha recordado esos diez mandamientos que todos aprendimos de niño en la catequesis familiar y parroquial. Esos mandamientos que siempre terminábamos diciendo que se resumían en dos: “Amar a Dios sobre todas las cosas y al prójimo como a uno mismo”. Los tres primeros hacen referencia a nuestras relaciones con Dios y los siete restantes al comportamiento que estamos llamados a adoptar con nuestros vecinos, amigos, compañeros de trabajo o de estudio, con cualquiera que se cruce en nuestro caminar.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los cristianos de Corinto, nos ha recordado una gran verdad que, a veces, olvidamos los cristianos y es que, decía el apóstol “Nosotros predicamos a Cristo y este crucificado”. No podemos hacer del cristianismo algo dulzón y sin compromiso alguno. La cruz está ahí y no la podemos soslayar. Cristo está en ella.
El relato del evangelio de San Juan nos ha puesto sobre el tapete la expulsión de los vendedores del templo que debe ser, por encima de todo, un lugar de oración y de encuentro con el Señor. También hemos escuchado la palabra resurrección que sigue al paso por la cruz. En esta cuaresma, busquemos a Jesús en el templo y en la cruz. Allí nos espera.
