HOMILÍA
En este penúltimo domingo del tiempo ordinario la Iglesia celebra la Jornada del Domund. Ya sabemos que el Domund es el día en el que, de un modo especial, al Iglesia Universal reza por los misioneros y colabora con las Misiones. Este año, el Domund cumple doscientos años al servicio de la Misión y lo hace con el lema “Seréis mis testigos”. Los sobres que recogerán nuestros donativos son una fuerte llamada a colaborar, a ser solidarios, a no dejar solos a los misioneros que están anunciando el mensaje del Evangelio y colaborando en el desarrollo de pueblos enteros a través de escuelas, hospitales, dispensarios…
La primera lectura, del libro del Eclesiástico, nos ha recordado que el corazón de Dios acoge las súplicas de los pobres representados en las viudas y en los huérfanos. En muchos lugares de misión la pobreza forma parte del paisaje. Los misioneros, con nuestra ayuda, pueden hacer posible que se superen las duras condiciones de vida que padecen hoy los necesitados de nuestro mundo. Recemos y colaboremos con la Iglesia misionera para que el mensaje de Jesús transforme sus vidas.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a Timoteo, recoge los sentimientos del apóstol que se sabe ya al final de su vida. Una vida que había dedicado al anuncio del evangelio y a colaborar para superar necesidades de unas y otras comunidades. ¡Ojala que, al final de nuestra existencia podamos mirar nuestras manos y verlas vacías porque lo hemos sabido dar todo a los que lo han necesitado!
El relato del evangelio de Lucas nos ha hablado de la oración que hace el fariseo desde su autosuficiencia y la que hace el publicano desde su conciencia de ser un pecador. Imitemos al publicano en su humildad para que podamos volver a nuestra casa plenamente justificados. Que la oración acompañe hoy a los misioneros y a los que reciben el evangelio.
