HOMILÍA
Las lecturas de este domingo, treinta y uno de tiempo ordinario, han incidido en un tema que es esencial en nuestra vivencia como cristianos. Nos han hablado del amor que el Padre Dios nos tiene y del amor que nosotros estamos llamados a derramar a nuestro alrededor. Del amor a ese Padre Dios y del amor a ese prójimo que camina a nuestro lado. Esto es algo que tenemos muy claro a nivel de teoría pero, quizás no tanto, a nivel de práctica cotidiana. Por eso, bueno será que meditemos y reflexionemos con calma sobre los textos bíblicos que hoy nos han sido proclamados.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Deuteronomio, un libro del antiguo testamento cuyo nombre significa “segunda ley.” Moisés se dirige al pueblo y le habla de la necesidad de respetar el nombre de Dios, de cumplir sus mandamientos para que le vaya bien, para que sus miembros puedan vivir largos años en la tierra prometida. Y termina insistiéndoles en que, ese amor que están llamados a vivir con el Señor, tiene que ser de verdad: “con todo el corazón, con toda el alma, con todas tus fuerzas”. También nosotros estamos invitados a cumplir los mandamientos, normas y preceptos como el mejor medio de ser felices y de alcanzar nuestra plenitud. Y el amor que debemos a Dios ha de ser considerado como una respuesta al amor, mucho más grande, que Él hace llegar hasta cada uno de nosotros. Amémosle, pues, de verdad, con todo el corazón. Así nos ama Él.
La segunda lectura, de la Carta a los Hebreos, nos ha hablado de Jesús, el Sumo Sacerdote de la nueva alianza, que, a diferencia de los sumos sacerdotes del antiguo testamento, no ofrece sacrificios de animales por sus propios pecados y por los del pueblo, sino que se ofrece a sí mismo en el altar de la cruz de una vez para siempre. No olvidemos las palabras que hemos escuchado en una de sus frases: “puede salvar definitivamente a los que, por medio de él, se acercan a Dios, porque vive para interceder en su favor.” Que una inmensa ola de confianza y de seguridad se apodere de todas las fibras de nuestro ser: el mismo Jesús intercede por nosotros ante el Padre.
El texto del evangelio de Marcos nos ha recordado el episodio en el que un escriba de la ley le hace a Jesús la gran pregunta: “¿Qué mandamiento es el primero de todos? ¿Cuál es el más importante? Y Jesús le viene a decir que no hay uno sino dos mandamientos que deben ser considerados como los más importantes. Dos mandamientos que están profundamente unidos. No es posible cumplir uno, sin practicar el otro. Y, además, hay que hacerlo, como nos recordaba la primera lectura, con todo el corazón, con toda el alma, con todo el ser. El amor a Dios y el amor al prójimo son como los dos palos de una cruz.
