HOMILÍA
En vísperas de dos grandes celebraciones como son: la solemnidad de Todos los Santos y la Conmemoración de los Fieles Difuntos, hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas que corresponden al domingo treinta y uno del tiempo ordinario. Desde hoy, miramos ya a esa multitud de hombres y mujeres, de toda edad y condición, que, viviendo muy unidos a Dios a sus hermanos los hombres, consiguieron alcanzar la gloria del cielo. Y nos fijamos también en esos seres tan queridos para nosotros, cuyas tumbas visitaremos estos días, que un día nos dejaron. El recuerdo y la plegaria nos siguen uniendo a ellos.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del Deuteronomio. Nos ha hablado del respeto que debemos a Dios y de la necesidad de cumplir esos mandamientos que expresan el amor que nos debe distinguir a los creyentes de todos los tiempos. No basta con decir que el Señor es muy importante para nosotros si hacemos caso omiso de esas normas, leyes y preceptos, que nos ponen en el camino de encontrarnos con Él. Eso sí, en esas normas debemos poner siempre el corazón.
La segunda lectura, de la carta a los Hebreos, nos ha seguido hablando de Jesús como del “sacerdote santo, inocente, sin mancha, separado de los pecadores y encumbrado sobre el cielo”. Un sacerdote que no necesitó ofrecer muchos sacrificios sino uno solo, el suyo, y que le llevó a ofrecerse a sí mismo para siempre en la cruz. Tengamos una inmensa confianza en este Jesús que nos llama a vivir con una gran paz.
El relato del Evangelio de Marcos nos ha recordado algo que ya sabemos de memoria pero que no siempre llevamos a buen término. El amor a Dios y a los demás es el mandamiento más grande, el que los abarca a todos. El que ama a su prójimo no le hace daño de ninguna de las maneras. Pidamos al Señor la fuerza para amar como Él nos amó.
