HOMILÍA
En este domingo, treinta y tres del tiempo ordinario, en el que la Palabra de Dios nos invita a mirar los dones y cualidades que todos tenemos para ponerlos al servicio de los demás, la Iglesia nos invita a dirigir nuestra mirada al mundo de los pobres, de los necesitados, de los que no tienen trabajo y miran con angustia el futuro. Muchos, incluso de los están a nuestro lado, no saben cómo llegar a fin de mes. Y nosotros no podemos permanecer indiferentes a su situación. Algo tenemos que hacer, algún compromiso tenemos que asumir. El Papa Francisco nos invita a vivir hoy la llamada “IV Jornada Mundial de los Pobres”.
"Esta Jornada tiene como objetivo, en primer lugar, estimular a los creyentes para que reaccionen ante la cultura del descarte y del derroche, haciendo suya la cultura del encuentro. Al mismo tiempo, la invitación está dirigida a todos, independientemente de su confesión religiosa, para que se dispongan a compartir con los pobres, a través de cualquier acción de solidaridad, un signo concreto de fraternidad."
No vale sentir una vaga compasión o un lamento que se quede en meras palabras. Es necesario poner manos a la obra. Y ¿por qué no hacernos socios de Cáritas colaborando con nuestra aportación económica para que otros puedan comer? ¿Por qué no ser voluntarios de Cáritas que puedan acompañar a tantas personas mayores que están solas compartiendo con ellas nuestro tiempo, nuestro saber escuchar, nuestra sonrisa y nuestras palabras de ánimo y de consuelo? ¿Por qué no poner nuestro corazón en la miseria, en la pobreza de aquellos transeúntes que nos visitan?
Sabemos, como nos decía el evangelio de este domingo que, esos talentos y cualidades que Dios ha puesto a nuestra disposición, los tenemos que hacer fructificar para el bien de todos. El Señor nos premiará.
