HOMILÍA
Este domingo, treinta y tres del tiempo ordinario, nos recuerda la celebración de la Jornada Mundial de los Pobres que fue instituida por el Papa Francisco hace un tiempo. A lo largo del año, los cristianos miramos al mundo de los pobres y necesitados y hacemos la colecta correspondiente: la Campaña contra el Hambre, el Domund… No nos olvidamos cuando hay desastres naturales o cuando, en un lugar del planeta, la gente lo está pasando mal. Hoy no hacemos Colecta pero tomamos conciencia de la existencia de tantos seres humanos necesitados de lo más imprescindible para llevar una vida dIgna.
No es nueva, en la comunidad cristiana, la ayuda a los pobres. Ya en el siglo II de nuestra era, San Justino escribía: “Los adinerados y los que lo desean dan libremente, cada uno lo que quiere, y lo que se recoge se entrega al sacerdote. Este socorre a los huérfanos, a las viudas, y a quien es indigente por enfermedad o por cualquier otra causa, a los encarcelados, a los extranjeros que se encuentran entre nosotros: en resumen, tiene cuidado de cualquiera que esté en necesidad»
En este año, la Conferencia Episcopal Española y Cáritas se unen de nuevo para celebrar la Jornada Mundial de los Pobres, que se celebra este domingo, trece de noviembre, bajo el lema “Jesucristo se hizo pobre por vosotros.” Una frase que se ha tomado de la segunda carta de San Pablo a los cristianos de Corinto. Imitemos a Jesús. Si tenemos, si podemos, estamos llamados a compartir con aquellos que, sabemos, no tienen lo necesario para vivir.
Un día, el Señor juzgará nuestra vida, verá si hemos sido egoístas o si hemos tenido en cuenta a tantos hermanos nuestros que recorren los caminos buscando un trabajo o, simplemente, un pedazo de pan. Ser voluntarios de Cáritas es una buena forma de ayudar y de colaborar.
