HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas correspondientes al tercer domingo del tiempo ordinario. Un domingo que nos trae dos temas muy importantes. Por un lado, la celebración de la Infancia Misionera o de la Santa Infancia, como se decía antes. Se quiere que “los niños ayuden a los niños”; que los más pequeños de nuestras comunidades aprendan, cuanto antes, a compartir lo que son y lo que tienen con otros niños como ellos que no tienen lo necesario para vivir o que no conocen a Jesús. Hoy se hace una colecta para ayudar a tantos niños que viven en la pobreza y para quienes sería una bendición ser amigos de Jesús.
El segundo nos habla de que el Papa Francisco ha declarado que, este tercer domingo del tiempo ordinario, sea el “Domingo de la Palabra de Dios”. Es bueno que los cristianos renovemos nuestro acercamiento a esa Palabra de Dios contenida en la Biblia. Esa que escuchamos cada vez que venimos a Misa, o que leemos en casa, o que tenemos en la estantería de nuestra biblioteca. No dejemos que acumule el polvo del paso del tiempo por no utilizarla. Adquiramos alguna si no la tenemos. Busquemos en ella la paz, el consuelo, la luz que necesitamos para actuar, para seguir adelante a pesar de las dificultades.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías y ya tuvimos la oportunidad de escucharla en los días de Navidad. Se nos habla de un pueblo que vive en tinieblas y anhela una luz. También nosotros, a veces, podemos vivir en la oscuridad y necesitamos esa Luz que es Jesús, que es esa Palabra de Dios que hoy el Papa Francisco nos invita a escuchar, a leer, a meditar y a reflexionar.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de San Pablo a los cristianos de Corinto conecta con esa semana que hemos dedicado a orar por la unidad de los cristianos. Los corintios se sentían seguidores de tal o cual maestro de vida cristiana y eso les llevaba al enfrentamiento y a la división. Pablo les recuerda que lo que les une a todos es Jesús, es la fe, es la Palabra de Dios. Los evangelizadores pueden ser distintos, Jesús es uno solo. Y todos deben sentirse unidos en él. Como nosotros.
El relato del Evangelio nos ha contado el inicio de la predicación de Jesús, que no es con milagros o con hechos espectaculares, sino con una sencilla y apremiante llamada a la conversión: “Convertíos, porque está cerca el reino de los cielos.” Convertirse en volverse hacia Dios.
