HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del cuarto domingo de cuaresma. Nos estamos acercando a las grandes celebraciones de la Semana Santa. Bueno es que nos paremos a reflexionar sobre los que estos textos bíblicos nos han proclamado. Pidamos al Señor que nos ayude a vivir intensamente estos días. Dediquemos tiempo a la oración. Acerquémonos al sacramento del perdón y de la reconciliación. Tratemos de hacer las paces con todos aquellos con los que podamos estar enemistados. Participemos habitualmente en la celebración de la Eucaristía. Recibamos a Jesús en la comunión.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de las Crónicas. Nos ha contado cómo el pueblo de Israel vivió momentos de rebeldía e infidelidad, cómo sufrió el castigo del destierro y cómo el Señor no les abandonó. El pueblo volvió a la patria y fue invitado a retomar el buen camino. Esta puede ser también nuestra historia. El pecado nos aleja de Dios, sufrimos las consecuencias de ello, pero el Señor no nos abandona y, como al antiguo pueblo de Israel, nos invita a volvernos a Él y a recuperar su amor y su amistad. El tiempo cuaresmal nos urge a desandar el mal camino y a volvernos a Dios.
La segunda lectura, de la carta de San Pablo a los Efesios, nos ha recordado una de las más bellas definiciones de Dios: “Dios es rico en misericordia.” Con la confianza que nos dan estas palabras, aprovechemos la ocasión. Nuestros pecados, nuestra realidad, tienen enfrente a un Dios que pone su corazón en nuestra indigencia.
El relato del evangelio de San Juan nos ha hablado de una larga conversación que sostuvieron Jesús y Nicodemo. En ella, Jesús le anuncia que un día será elevado sobre la cruz “para que todo el que cree en él, tenga vida eterna.” Miremos al crucificado y démosle gracias.
