HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado con atención las lecturas del cuarto domingo del tiempo ordinario. Un domingo que precede a toda una serie de acontecimientos y celebraciones muy importantes para la comunidad cristiana: La fiesta de la presentación del Señor o de la Candelaria en la que se bendicen las velas que nos recuerdan que Jesús es la Luz del mundo; la fiesta del mártir San Blas en la que bendecimos los alimentos que serán compartidos con familiares y amigos: la fiesta de la también mártir Santa Águeda, invocada por todos pero, de una forma especial, por las mujeres y, finalmente, la llamada que nos hace Manos Unidas, Campaña contra el Hambre, para colaborar en esa Colecta que hará posible un proyecto de desarrollo en el Tercer Mundo.
Pero, este domingo, no es solo el pórtico de una serie de acontecimientos y celebraciones importantes, sino que encierra, en sí mismo, una enseñanza que no podemos pasar por alto. La primera lectura, del libro del Deuteronomio, nos hablaba de la voluntad de Señor de suscitar un profeta en medio de su pueblo para recordarle las actitudes y los comportamientos que debe adoptar. A este profeta deberán hacerle caso, pero este profeta deberá también ser fiel a lo que el Señor espera de él.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Corintios, hace referencia a la disponibilidad de la que dispone el consagrado al Señor, en cuerpo y alma, para anunciar la Buena noticia de la salvación. Disponibilidad de la que carece, en la misma medida al menos, el que se dedica a los asuntos del mundo. El relato del evangelio nos recuerda al Jesús que enseñaba con autoridad y al Jesús que curaba a los enfermos. Las dos cosas debemos hacer también nosotros: anunciar el evangelio con nuestra palabra y con nuestra vida y ayudar a los necesitados.
