HOMILÍA
Celebra hoy la Iglesia el cuarto domingo de Pascua; también conocido como domingo del Buen Pastor. Sabemos, por la historia, que la representación más antigua del Señor Jesús en el arte cristiano, tiene mucho que ver con la imagen entrañable e idílica de un Buen Pastor. Las antiguas catacumbas romanas así nos lo atestiguan. Por este motivo, hoy celebramos la Jornada Mundial de Oración por las Vocaciones y la Jornada de las Vocaciones Nativas.
Todos somos conscientes de la falta de sacerdotes, religiosos y religiosas en nuestras comunidades cristianas. Y todos recordamos las palabras de Jesús instándonos a rezar para que el Señor envíe obreros a su mies. Nuestra oración y el testimonio de vida al que somos llamados, es la única arma efectiva que hará posible la abundancia de vocaciones que animen y hagan fecunda la vida de nuestras parroquias.
Además de rezar por las vocaciones, se nos pide que oremos, de una forma especial, por las Vocaciones Nativas. Imprescindible es la labor de tantos misioneros y misioneras que, en los cinco continentes, están anunciando el mensaje de Jesús y colaborando en el desarrollo de esos pueblos. Pero es necesario que las vocaciones surjan también en el seno de esas comunidades en tierras de misión. Nadie proclamará mejor el evangelio que esos sacerdotes, religiosos y religiosas nativos, dado que han nacido inmersos en la cultura, en la lengua, en las costumbres de quienes están llamados a recibir la Buena Noticia de Jesús.
Pidamos hoy y siempre a Jesús, el Buen Pastor, que llene a la Iglesia de Buenos Pastores; Pastores según su corazón, Pastores que sean ejemplo y estímulo. Y, si el Señor llama a alguno de nuestra familia, facilitemos su respuesta positiva. Ayudémosle a seguir su vocación. Las vocaciones surgen allí donde se reza para que estas sean una realidad.
