HOMILÍA
Escuchar las lecturas del quinto domingo de cuaresma es darnos cuenta de la proximidad de la Semana Santa. El próximo domingo será ya domingo de Ramos. Preparemos, pues, nuestros corazones. Y, para ello, nada mejor que reflexionar sobre esa Palabra de Dios que ha llegado hasta nosotros.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Jeremías. Anuncia a su pueblo que Dios está dispuesto a hacer un pacto de amistad con todos y cada uno de ellos. Un pacto de amistad que no estará escrito en documentos o en tablas de la ley, sino en el corazón. Cada ser humano ha de poner su corazón al lado del corazón de Dios y, entre corazón y corazón, establecer una relación entrañable en la que todo pecado será perdonado y olvidado. Hagamos nosotros hoy ese pacto de amistad con el Señor. Y pidámosle la fuerza y la gracia para llevarlo a buen término.
La segunda lectura, de la carta a los Hebreos, nos ha presentado a un Jesús, profundamente humano, que siente miedo y angustia ante el dolor, el sufrimiento y la muerte que se le vienen encima. Él aprenderá, sufriendo, a obedecer y se convertirá en autor de salvación eterna para todo ser humano. En nuestros momentos de dolor, de miedo, de angustia, dirijamos hacia este Cristo doliente nuestra mirada. Imploremos su ayuda, su fuerza. El Cristo que sufre, nos acompaña en nuestros propios dolores y nos da su fuerza para sobrellevarlos.
El relato del evangelio de Juan nos ha recordado una frase de unos extranjeros que le piden a los discípulos que les ayuden a entrar en contacto con Jesús. “Queremos ver a Jesús.” Muchos de nuestros conciudadanos, de una forma o de otra, nos piden a nosotros lo mismo: “Queremos ver a Jesús.” Mostrémoselo con nuestra palabra y con una vida que sabe afrontar el sufrimiento propio y compartir el ajeno.
