HOMILÍA
En nuestros oídos y en nuestro corazón han resonado con fuerza los textos bíblicos de este quinto domingo de Pascua. Un domingo que nos habla también de un mes que empieza dedicado, de una forma especial, a Santa María nuestra Madre. Un domingo que nos recuerda que es también el día de nuestra madre, aquí en la tierra. Vayan para ella nuestros besos y abrazos si tenemos la suerte de tenerla y nuestra plegaria si un día nos dejó. ¡Ojalá que nuestro corazón se llene de gratitud hacia ese Dios que nos hizo el regalo de esa madre de la tierra que nos dio la vida y de esa otra madre del cielo que es María!
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles. Nos ha contado cómo fueron aquellos primeros momentos de la actividad apostólica de San Pablo, tras haberse encontrado con Jesús en el camino de Damasco. Hubo dificultades y problemas. Muchos no le aceptaban porque lo habían conocido como perseguidor de la Iglesia. Todo se resolvió satisfactoriamente y la Comunidad Cristiana pudo vivir momentos de paz y de extensión gozosa del mensaje del evangelio. Sigamos hoy la tarea de aquellos primeros cristianos.
La segunda lectura, de la primera carta de Juan, nos ha dejado para nuestra reflexión una frase: “Hijos míos, no amemos de palabra y de boca sino con obras y de verdad.” Esto es lo que se nos pide a los cristianos de todos los tiempos: amar de verdad, con hechos, con obras buenas, sin quedarnos en bonitas palabras que no ayudan a nadie.
El texto del evangelio de Juan nos ha recordado las palabras de Jesús que se identifica con la vid y que nos pone a nosotros como los sarmientos que, para dar fruto, deben estar unidos a él. El sarmiento, separado de la vid se seca. Si queremos vivir una vida cristiana plena deberemos mantenernos unidos a la vid, a Cristo, que nos dará vida.
