HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del quinto domingo de Pascua. Un domingo que nos sigue hablando de santa María, nuestra Madre, a quien veneramos, de una forma especial, en este mes de mayo. Un mes, por otra parte, lleno de celebraciones, de primeras comuniones, de confirmaciones. Y un domingo, el de hoy, en el que hacemos memoria de San Isidro, patrono de los agricultores españoles, amante de la Eucaristía, del trabajo bien hecho, de la tierra que cultivaba y del Dios que la hacía fecunda.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles. Nos ha contado cómo los apóstoles se tomaron muy en serio el trabajo evangelizador y la formación de las comunidades cristianas a las que predicaban, animaban y exhortaban a ser fieles, aun en medio de las dificultades y de las tribulaciones por las que tenían que pasar. Nosotros vemos, en aquellas comunidades, un modelo a seguir.
La segunda lectura, del libro del Apocalipsis, ha hecho referencia a un cielo nuevo y a una tierra nueva, a un Dios que enjugará toda lágrima y en la que ya no habrá muerte, ni duelo, ni llanto ni dolor, porque, la realidad mala que nos aplasta, desaparecerá. Él lo hace todo nuevo. Ojala que esta realidad nos llene a todos de esperanza.
El relato del evangelio de Juan nos ha recordado las más bellas palabras de Jesús en el Evangelio. También, es verdad, las más exigentes y comprometidas: “Os doy un mandamiento nuevo: que os améis unos a otros; como yo os he amado, amaos también unos a otros. En esto conocerán todos que sois discípulos míos; si os amáis unos a otros.» ¡Ojalá que se conviertan en nuestro signo distintivo! ¡Ojala que no sean solo palabras bonitas, sino esa tarea que el Señor ha puesto en nuestras manos y en nuestros corazones para que la llevemos a buen término!
