El tiempo pascual avanza camino de Pentecostés. Bueno es que vayamos recordando el mensaje que las lecturas de este quinto domingo nos han presentado hoy, con el mes de mayo recién comenzado. Un mes que nos invita a mirar a la Virgen María, a los jóvenes que recibirán la confirmación, a los niños que se acercarán por primera vez a la mesa de la eucaristía, a los de la tercera edad que desean ser fortalecidos con el sacramento de la Unción de los Enfermos, a tantos que peregrinarán a las ermitas que rodean nuestros pueblos.
La primera lectura le hemos tomado del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles y nos ha contado cómo también, en los primeros momentos de la naciente Iglesia, hubo problemas y dificultades de convivencia que se resolvieron con el diálogo, con el respeto y la aceptación de otro, con la oración comunitaria. También hoy podemos tener problemas y dificultades. Imitemos a aquellos antecesores nuestros que supieron ponerse de acuerdo cuando las cosas se complicaban.
La segunda lectura del apóstol Pedro nos ha venido a decir que los cristianos somos como piedras vivas de un edificio en el que la piedra angular es Jesús. Cada uno de nosotros forma parte de esa familia eclesial que espera que sepamos dar lo mejor en beneficio del conjunto. Preguntémonos qué es lo que podemos ofrecer por los demás.
El relato del evangelio de Juan nos ha recordado una frase de Jesús que todos deberíamos aprender de memoria: “Yo soy el camino, la verdad y la vida. Nadie va al Padre sino por mí.” Acerquémonos a este Jesús para estar seguros de ir por el buen camino, de conocer la verdad que nos hace libres y de tener acceso a esa vida abundante que se nos ofrece. Hoy se nos habla de un Jesús que es esa puerta de la que se nos hablaba el domingo pasado. Una puerta que nos acerca al Padre Dios.
