HOMILÍA
El sexto domingo de Pascua nos habla de que se acerca ya el final de este tiempo en el que estamos haciendo memoria de Jesús Resucitado. Un Jesús resucitado que pronto va a ascender al cielo y que, tal y como había prometido, nos enviará al Espíritu Santo para fortalecernos, para aclararnos el sentido y el significado de sus palabras, de sus hechos y de su vida.
La primera lectura, tomada del libro de los Hechos de los Apóstoles, nos ha recordado que también al comienzo del cristianismo hubo problemas y dificultades en las distintas comunidades y que todo se fue resolviendo, poco a poco, con el diálogo y con el amor que Jesús les había dejado como su signo distintivo. Los cristianos provenían de distintos orígenes étnicos, culturales y religiosos pero eso no tenía que ser un obstáculo para aceptarse y respetarse mutuamente.
La segunda lectura, del libro del Apocalipsis, utilizando un lenguaje simbólico, misterioso, nos ha descrito a esa comunidad que es la Iglesia asentada sobre esas doce columnas que son los Apóstoles de Jesús. Por eso, cada vez que proclamamos el Credo, decimos que creemos en la Iglesia que es una, santa, católica y apostólica. Los doce amigos de Jesús recibieron de él el encargo de proclamar su buena noticia a todos los pueblos. Hoy nosotros, apoyados en ellos, estamos llamados a seguir su misma misión.
El relato del evangelio de Juan ha seguido haciendo hincapié en el amor que nos debemos los unos a los otros, en el amor que nos conduce hacia Dios y en esa paz que debemos construir con las personas con las que convivimos. No siempre nos resultará fácil, es verdad, pero contaremos con la ayuda del Espíritu Santo que Jesús hará descender sobre nosotros. Pidamos al Señor llegar a sentir su presencia alentadora.
