HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del sexto domingo del tiempo ordinario. En ellas, sobresalen las palabras de Jesús que nos invitan a evitar no solo los grandes males que podemos hacer al prójimo sino incluso aquellos otros, más pequeños, pero que nos predisponen a cometer esos otros que son más grandes. Por ejemplo, no se trata solo de no matar sino de no dejarse llevar por la cólera o por el odio que pueden desembocar en el asesinato.
Y, en este domingo, no podemos dejar de hacer mención de esa Colecta que Manos Unidas, Campaña contra el Hambre, nos impulsa a realizar en este día bajo ese lema tan sugerente: “Frenar la desigualdad está en tus manos”. Muchas personas, en nuestro mundo, viven en la pobreza más extrema. Algunas están muy cerca de nosotros. Más grave es, quizás, la situación de tantos pueblos que miran con angustia el futuro en los países del llamado Tercer Mundo. No les dejemos solos. Compartamos lo mucho o lo poco que tengamos.
En estos días pasados hemos visto al Papa Francisco visitar la República Democrática del Congo y Sudán del Sur para llamar la atención de la comunidad internacional sobre las guerras y los conflictos, sobre el hambre y la pobreza que se dan en esos lugares. Impresionante la imagen de un niño de Sudán del Sur que se acerca al Papa y le da un billete que apenas supone unos céntimos de euro para nosotros, pero que, para él, era toda una fortuna. Nos recuerda a aquella viuda del evangelio que fue alabada por Jesús porque dio “de lo que necesitaba para vivir” y no como otros que daban de lo que les sobraba.
Que la imagen de este niño sudanés, que da desde su pobreza, nos estimule a nosotros a dar también para financiar un proyecto de desarrollo en la India: “Rescate y reinserción de niños vulnerables asentados en vías de tren.” Que la generosidad brille hoy en nuestros corazones.
