HOMILÍA
Un domingo más hemos sido convocados a celebrar juntos la Eucaristía. Hemos pedido perdón, hemos alabado a Dios con el himno del gloria, hemos rezado la primera oración de la misa y escuchado con atención las lecturas de este domingo séptimo del tiempo ordinario. Ahora es momento de reflexionar, de preguntarnos qué es lo que el Padre Dios nos ha querido decir a cada uno de nosotros. ¡Ojala que, también a lo largo de la semana, nos vengan a la memoria palabras, frases, mensajes y enseñanzas de cualquiera de las tres lecturas que nos han sido proclamadas!
La primera de ellas la hemos tomado del libro del Levítico. Nos ha puesto ante nuestros ojos el deseo más vehemente de ese Dios que nos quiere: “Seréis santos, porque yo, el Señor, vuestro Dios, soy santo.” Ser santos es vivir unidos a ese Dios y unidos a también a todo ser humano. Un ser humano que no puede ser odiado. Un ser humano sobre el que no puede caer nuestra venganza ni nuestro rencor. Un ser humano que ha de ser amado con la misma fuerza y la misma intensidad con la que nos queremos a nosotros mismos. ¡Cuántas veces hemos escuchado esta enseñanza! Pero es bueno volver a escucharla para que no la olvidemos nunca. Estamos llamados a ser santos, a ser felices. Y, para ello, nada mejor que vivir amando al Dios que se hace presente en las personas con las que convivimos y a las que amamos.
La segunda lectura la hemos tomado, como estas semanas pasadas, de la carta que San Pablo escribió a la comunidad cristiana de Corinto. Hoy les hablaba de una idea muy sugerente: Cada ser humano es un templo de Dios, es un recinto sagrado donde habita la divinidad y, por eso, debe ser respetado, acogido, comprendido, amado. Nadie puede destruir al otro con sus palabras o sus acciones porque estaría destruyendo el lugar habitado por Dios. No lo olvidemos. Somos templo de Dios. El está en nuestro corazón y en el corazón de todos. Que el saber esto nos ayude a respetar, más si cabe, a los demás.
El relato del evangelio corona el mensaje escuchado en las otras lecturas: el amor a Dios se ha de traducir en el amor al prójimo, sea este amigo o enemigo. No podemos responder al mal con el mal, al odio con el odio, a la violencia con la violencia. Jesús nos invita a romper la espiral de odio y de mal en la que podemos estar viviendo. Tenemos que vencer el mal a fuerza de bien. Y, cuando no podamos hacer nada por el que se considera enemigo nuestro, siempre podremos rezar por él, porque rezar por el otro es también una forma de amarle. Pidamos al Señor que sepamos responder al mal con el bien, que no continuemos el camino del mal, que superemos los deseos de venganza, que sepamos mantener la paz en nuestro corazón… para ser hijos de Dios.
