HOMILÍA
El próximo día veintidós será miércoles de ceniza y este séptimo domingo del tiempo ordinario, que estamos celebrando, nos trae un mensaje de conversión, de amor a los enemigos, de devolver bien por mal que, de alguna forma, nos prepara para entrar de lleno en el tiempo cuaresmal. Dejemos que las palabras escuchadas nos predispongan para vivir con intensidad esos cuarenta días que la Iglesia nos ofrece para cambiar de vida, de actitudes y de comportamientos para poder celebrar con gozo la fiesta solemne de la Pascua de Resurrección.
La primera lectura, tomada del libro del Levítico, nos ha recordado la voluntad de un Dios que nos quiere santos, alejados de todo tipo de odio y de venganza y dispuestos a querer al prójimo como nos queremos a nosotros mismos: “Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo”. O lo que es lo mismo: “No hagas a tu prójimo lo que a ti no te agrada” son reglas de oro que nos ayudarán a tratar a los demás como nos gustaría ser tratados por ellos.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los corintios, nos decía que todos somos templos de Dios y que no podemos destruir ese templo que son las personas con las que nos relacionamos. Si les hacemos daño de palabra o de obra es como si destruyéramos su persona que es un templo en el que Dios habita. Cuando pensemos en el prójimo, pensemos en Dios. El amor a Dios y el amor al prójimo están unidos.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo ha resumido el mensaje de las otras lecturas al decirnos que estamos llamados “a amar a nuestros enemigos, a rezar por los que nos persiguen y a ser perfectos como nuestro Padre Celestial es perfecto”. El tiempo cuaresmal, que comenzaremos con la imposición de la ceniza el próximo miércoles, nos ofrecerá la oportunidad de crecer en el amor, en la fe y en la esperanza.
