HOMILÍA
Estamos celebrando la Eucaristía del cuarto domingo de Adviento, el domingo que precede a la Navidad, a la fiesta del Nacimiento de Jesús. Fijemos nuestra mirada en el Belén de nuestras casas o en el que podemos contemplar en la iglesia. Detengámonos en los distintos personajes que allí aparecen. De una forma especial en Jesús, en María y en José. Pero también en los pastores, en los Magos, en los ángeles. Y recemos. Dejemos que una ola de gozo inunde todo nuestro ser. Estamos en los últimos días del Adviento. Preparemos nuestro corazón. Las lecturas que hoy hemos escuchado nos pueden ayudar.
La primera de ellas, la hemos tomado del libro del profeta Isaías. Ha hecho referencia a un periodo de la historia del pueblo de Israel. Jerusalén está a punto de ser atacada y el miedo y la incertidumbre se apoderan de todos. En ese contexto, el profeta se dirige al Rey para anunciarle el nacimiento de un heredero. Una noticia que es interpretada como un buen augurio de que no van a ser derrotados y que la dinastía de David continuará. El nacimiento de ese niño nos habla del nacimiento de Jesús en Belén que será también un Enmanuel, un Dios con nosotros en el más pleno sentido de la palabra.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Romanos, nos habla de la vocación del Apóstol que ha sido llamado a anunciar a todos los pueblos al Jesús hombre, al Jesús Dios. Al Jesús nacido de María y al Jesús resucitado y constituido Señor. Termina deseándoles gracia y paz de parte de Dios. Gracia y paz que a todos nos trae hoy el niño de Belén que un día, pasados unos años, dará su vida por nosotros y resucitará.
El relato del Evangelio de San Mateo nos ha contado los días difíciles que vivió san José porque no acertaba a comprender el misterio que se encerraba en la persona de María. Hasta el punto de pensar en dejarla y marcharse. Pero Dios le saldrá al encuentro y le aclarará todo. Desde ese momento, José acogerá en su casa a su esposa y será para ella y para Jesús la persona imprescindible. Con ellos irá a Belén, les acompañará al destierro en Egipto, volverá a Nazaret, trabajará para ellos. Enseñará a Jesús, como todo buen padre israelita, su propio oficio. Todo parece indicar que morirá antes de que Jesús emprenda la aventura de su vida pública pero, la huella que dejó en él, permanecerá para siempre. El Jesús que nace en Belén tuvo el mejor padre.
