HOMILÍA
Un domingo más, esta vez el cuarto del tiempo ordinario, nos ha convocado para escuchar juntos la Palabra de Dios, para recibir a Jesús en la comunión, para rezar la oración que él nos enseñó, para sentir que somos familia, familia cristiana, para animarnos los unos a los otros a seguir adelante a pesar de las dificultades. Un domingo también que es la antesala de una semana llena de celebraciones y de festividades de santos muy populares entre nosotros: la presentación de Jesús en el templo, la Candelaria, san Blas, santa Águeda. Ellos escucharon y pusieron en práctica el mensaje central del evangelio que, como sabemos, son las bienaventuranzas.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Sofonías. Hablaba a su pueblo de virtudes que hoy nosotros estamos llamados a asumir. Les invitaba a buscar al Señor, a ser humildes, justos, moderados; a ser también un pueblo pobre y fiel, sincero, pacífico. Seamos nosotros también así. Que estas palabras no sean solo palabras. Que, en nuestra vida de cada día, busquemos lo que Dios quiere y hagamos lo que le agrada. Ese será el mejor camino para ser felices nosotros y para que, a nuestro alrededor, otros lo puedan ser también.
La segunda lectura la hemos tomado de la carta que San Pablo escribió a la comunidad cristiana de Corinto. Frente al deseo natural de sentirse más y mejores que los demás, el apóstol les recuerda su realidad: en esa comunidad no hay ni muchos poderosos, ni sabios, ni nadie que pertenezca a la nobleza en términos humanos. Hay sólo gente sencilla, trabajadores del puerto. Y esto es así, les viene a decir, porque Dios escoge a los sencillos, a los débiles, a los que no cuentan. Y eso les debe llenar de gozo. Dios está con ellos, les quiere como son y si de algo se tienen que enorgullecer es de lo que Dios les ama a pesar de su pequeñez y de su fragilidad. “El que se gloríe, que se gloríe en el Señor” les recuerda. Lo que el apóstol les decía a los Corintios, tengámoslo como dicho también a nuestra propia comunidad parroquial.
El relato del evangelio es, como sabemos, el corazón del evangelio. Las bienaventuranzas son un conjunto de dichos de Jesús que nos hablan de los caminos que estamos llamados a recorrer si queremos ser felices y hacer felices a los que nos rodean. Dichosos, felices, vendrá a decir Jesús, si sabéis estar cerca de los pobres, de los que lloran, de los que sufren, de los que tienen hambre y sed de la justicia. Dichosos, dirá también, si sabéis ser misericordiosos, limpios de corazón, constructores de la paz. Dichosos si os persiguen por ser justos y afrontáis los insultos y las calumnias, que puedan caer sobre vosotros, porque queréis ser fieles a vuestra fe. Meditemos en las bienaventuranzas, recorramos esos caminos como san Blas, santa Águeda y todos los santos
