HOMILÍA
En este quinto domingo del tiempo ordinario los cristianos tenemos una cita importante con tantos miles y miles de personas de los países más pobres de la tierra que viven en la pobreza, que pasan hambre, que no tienen lo necesario para vivir. Y esta cita es ineludible. Cierto que podemos decir, con verdad, que estamos en crisis, que también nosotros lo estamos pasando mal, que muchos tienen dificultades para llegar a fin de mes, pero no es menos cierto que la pobreza y la miseria en la que viven tantos miles de personas, lejos de nosotros, es mucho más grande y mucho más severa que la crisis que estamos padeciendo los países más ricos de la tierra. Las dos situaciones deben ser atendidas, las necesidades de los de cerca y de los lejanos. Sabemos también que el Señor no se deja vencer nunca en generosidad. En la medida de nuestras posibilidades, demos, compartamos, colaboremos con Manos Unidas en su lucha contra la pobreza.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del profeta Isaías. Nos habla de su encuentro con el Señor que pone en su corazón un interrogante: “¿A quién mandaré a anunciar la Buena Noticia? ¿Quién irá por mí?” y la respuesta del profeta no puede ser más clara y rotunda: “Aquí estoy, mándame”. En este día de la Campaña contra el hambre también el Señor nos susurra a cada uno de nosotros: “¿A quién mandaré para ayudar a lo necesitados? ¿Quién lo hará por mí?” ¡Ojala que nuestra respuesta sea una copia exacta de la del profeta!: “Aquí estoy yo, Señor para ayudar, para colaborar, para ser solidario. Aquí esta lo poco que tengo para que tú lo multipliques como hiciste con aquellos cinco panes de cebada y un par de peces que alguien te dio antes de que realizaras el milagro de la multiplicación de los panes y los peces”.
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los Corintios, es un resumen de la fe que el apóstol les anunció: Cristo dio su vida por amor y resucitó al tercer día. También nosotros debemos dar nuestras vidas o, por lo menos, algo de lo que tenemos, por los hermanos necesitados.
El relato del evangelio de San Lucas nos ha recordado la escena de la pesca milagrosa que tuvo lugar gracias al trabajo de los apóstoles pero, sobre todo, gracias a la ayuda de Jesús que hizo posible lo que el sólo esfuerzo humano no había podido conseguir. Nosotros podemos pensar que las necesidades y el hambre de tantas personas en el mundo no se pueden solucionar con nuestras pequeñas aportaciones; que esa realidad nos sobrepasa, que no merece la pena que nos esforcemos en algo que parece imposible: vencer la pobreza y el hambre. Pero, no olvidemos, que también nosotros contamos con la ayuda del mismo Jesús que multiplicará, hasta límites insospechados, nuestras aportaciones, nuestra colaboración, nuestra solidaridad
