HOMILÍA
Hemos escuchado las lecturas del sexto domingo del tiempo ordinario. Ha resonado en nuestros oídos una palabra que, tanto en el Antiguo Testamento como en la época de Jesús, suscitaba un miedo terrible. Es la palabra “lepra”. Una enfermedad que, en aquellos tiempos, obligaba a los afectados a vivir fuera de los pueblos y ciudades, separados de los familiares y de los amigos. Jesús va a volcarse de una forma especial con ellos. Hoy hemos visto en el evangelio como un leproso se acerca a Jesús para decirle: “Si quieres, puedes limpiarme.” La inmensa confianza, que muestra este enfermo, le lleva a Jesús a decirle: “Quiero, queda limpio.” Hagamos nuestra esta plegaria cada vez que necesitemos la ayuda de Jesús.
En este domingo, reflexionamos también sobre otra palabra terrible. Es la palabra “hambre”. Hoy, en todas las parroquias de nuestra diócesis hacemos una colecta de Manos Unidas–Campaña contra el Hambre para financiar un proyecto de desarrollo en Uganda, una nación africana. En este tiempo de pandemia todos sufrimos pero, de una forma especial, los que la viven en medio de la pobreza y de la falta de lo más imprescindible. Es cierto que nuestra situación económica puede no ser tan buena como en años anteriores pero siempre será mejor que la de aquellos a quienes estamos llamados a ayudar. Seamos conscientes de que Dios no se deja vencer nunca en generosidad.
A la lepra y al hambre se junta hoy otra palabra: “Cuaresma”. El próximo día 17 es “Miércoles de Ceniza”. Comenzaremos un periodo de renovación y de conversión personal y comunitaria que nos llevará, un año más, a celebrar, gozosamente, la Solemnidad de la Pascua. Metámonos de lleno en este tiempo que purificará nuestro corazón, nos acercará al Señor y hará crecer la fraternidad con nuestros hermanos.
