HOMILÍA
Hoy hemos escuchado las lecturas propias del domingo que hace el número once del tiempo ordinario. Un tiempo en el que nos acercamos al Jesús que caminaba por los pueblos de Palestina anunciando la Buena Noticia, obrando milagros, estando siempre cerca de la gente que le buscaba, que se sentía bien a su lado.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Ezequiel. A él le tocó vivir el drama amargo del destierro acompañando a su pueblo. Fue un hombre que supo sembrar la semilla de la esperanza entre los desterrados, hablándoles de un Dios que no les había olvidado y que, un día, haría posible el regreso a la patria. Hoy les contaba lo de los árboles altos que serán humillados y lo de los árboles humildes que serán ensalzados. La imagen era clara para sus oyentes: los árboles altos eran sus opresores, los que les estaban manteniendo en la esclavitud. Los árboles humildes eran ellos, los que sufrían. También nosotros somos o nos tenemos, al menos, por árboles altos que desprecian a los que no son o no están a nuestra altura. Aprendamos a ser árboles humildes y sencillos que se saben necesitados de la mano de Dios.
La segunda lectura la hemos tomado de la carta que San Pablo escribió a la comunidad cristiana de Corinto. También aquí aparece la palabra destierro. Pero el destierro al que se refiere es al que padecemos los que amamos a Jesús pero no le vemos. Un día, ese destierro se acabará y le veremos tal cual es. Para que eso sea posible, el apóstol nos daba una receta infalible: que nos esforcemos en agradarle, en vivir amando, haciendo el bien, ayudando a los demás.
El relato del evangelio de Marcos nos hablaba del Reino de Dios bajo la imagen de una semilla de mostaza. Muchas veces, los cristianos nos desanimamos porque no vemos que la semilla de la fe se extienda. Todo lo contrario, parece que, cada vez, hay menos gente que cree, que va a la iglesia, que se siente creyente. ¿Qué va a pasar? nos preguntamos, dentro de unos años. ¿Qué será de la fe, de la Iglesia, del cristianismo?
Las palabras de Jesús, comparando el Reino de Dios con la pequeñez de una semilla que, con el tiempo, se convierte en un gran árbol, nos llenan de esperanza. No nos desanimemos. Como alguien escribió en cierta ocasión, “no tengamos miedo de ser pocos y de ser diferentes”. La semilla de la fe dará su fruto, crecerá, se hará un árbol grande. Lo que importa es que las dificultades del momento y las incomprensiones no nos quiten ni la esperanza ni la alegría de vivir la fe.
