HOMILÍA
El Señor nos invita a reflexionar sobre las lecturas de este décimo quinto domingo del tiempo ordinario. Un domingo que nos trae a la memoria también al gran San Benito, patrono de Europa, impulsor de la vida contemplativa en el occidente cristiano, fundador de comunidades monásticas. Su “ora et labora”, su orar y trabajar, ha constituido siempre un lema para todos los cristianos. Dentro de unos días celebraremos asimismo la festividad de la Virgen del Carmen, protectora de las gentes del mar, a la que los cristianos invocamos en nuestras necesidades.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Amós. Un hombre sencillo que no pretende grandes cosas. Solo ocuparse de sus pequeñas tareas agrícolas. Pero, un día, siente que el Señor le llama. Sufrirá la incomprensión y el rechazo pero, por encima de todo, sabrá ser fiel a la misión encomendada. ¡Ojalá que este humilde profeta sea un ejemplo para todos y cada uno de nosotros!
La segunda lectura, de San Pablo a los cristianos de Éfeso, nos ha descrito lo que, probablemente, fue un himno de alabanza utilizado por los primeros cristianos en sus celebraciones litúrgicas. De todo el texto resaltamos esta frase: “El Señor nos eligió para que fuésemos santos e intachables ante Él por el amor”. Somos elegidos por un Dios que nos quiere activos en la práctica del amor.
El evangelio de Marcos nos ha contado como Jesús, en un determinado momento, envío a sus apóstoles, de dos en dos, a una doble tarea: anunciar el perdón y la salvación y preocuparse de los enfermos, de los que sufrían. A nosotros nos espera lo mismo: ser testigos del amor de Dios para con todos y, de una forma especial, con los enfermos, con los afectados por la pandemia, con los que se sienten solos y abandonados. Pidamos al Señor que nos ayude a cumplir con nuestra misión.
