HOMILÍA
En vísperas de una de las fiestas más populares que hacen referencia a Santa María, nuestra Madre, bajo esa advocación tan entrañable de Virgen del Carmen o Virgen del Monte Carmelo, hemos escuchado unos textos bíblicos que corresponden al domingo XV del Tiempo Ordinario. Textos bíblicos sobre los que ahora debemos volver para descubrir lo que el Padre Dios nos quiere decir a cada uno de nosotros. Bueno sería que esta reflexión no se limitara al momento de escucharlos y de la homilía que pronuncia el sacerdote a continuación, sino que también se prolongara a lo largo de toda la semana.
La primera lectura la hemos tomado del libro del profeta Amós, un hombre sencillo, dedicado a sus tareas agrícolas y pastoriles, que, en un momento determinado, siente la voz de un Dios que le llama a denunciar las injusticias, la diferencia escandalosa entre ricos y pobres, en una época de bonanza económica. Los bienes, la riqueza, deben llegar a todos y no pueden ni deben ser acaparados por unos pocos. Su mensaje, claro y directo, no sentó bien entre los acaparadores de esa riqueza que le atacaron sin piedad. La realidad que vivió el profeta se repite con frecuencia en nuestro mundo. Si los bienes y la riqueza deben llegar a todos cuando las cosas van bien, esos bienes y esa riqueza deben ser compartidos, con más urgencia si cabe, cuando hay crisis, cuando muchos lo tienen difícil para llegar a fin de mes.
La segunda lectura nos ha hablado de unos destinatarios, los efesios y de un autor, probablemente el apóstol Pablo. Son las primeras palabras de esa carta que recogen un himno de alabanza y de gratitud a Jesucristo. Una de sus frases nos llama poderosamente la atención. Decía el apóstol: “Él nos eligió en Cristo antes de la fundación del mundo para que fuésemos santos e intachables ante él por el amor”. No seremos santos e intachables, en los tiempos que vivimos, si no hacemos nuestras las necesidades y los problemas de los que están a nuestro lado. La santidad pasa por dar, por darnos, por compartir, por ser solidarios.
El texto del evangelio de San Marcos nos ha recordado un ensayo de la gran misión que los apóstoles recibirán un día tras la partida de Jesús. Ahora deben ir a las aldeas y pueblos cercanos; de dos en dos, para ayudarse y animarse mutuamente; ligeros de equipaje y de bienes económicos, para hacer más efectivo su mensaje; dispuestos a ayudar a todos y, de una forma especial, a los enfermos, a los que sufren. También Jesús nos manda a nosotros a ser sus testigos, a anunciar su mensaje, a proclamar con nuestra palabra y nuestra vida la Buena Noticia. No olvidemos, a este respecto, las indicaciones que dio a los suyos.
