HOMILÍA
Un domingo más, nos hemos puesto a la escucha de la Palabra de Dios. La primera lectura la hemos tomado del profeta Isaías y ha hecho referencia a un misterioso personaje llamado “Siervo de Yahvé.” Soporta el dolor y el sufrimiento sabiendo que Dios está a su lado y que nunca le abandonará. Ese “Siervo de Yahvé” se hizo realidad en la persona del Jesús que padece pasión, que es azotado, golpeado, clavado en la cruz. También a nosotros nos visita, con frecuencia, el dolor, el sufrimiento, la enfermedad. Y, de momento, nos desconcierta; nos hace sentir la fragilidad y la limitación que conlleva el ser humanos. Pero, si algo nos enseña esta lectura es que, en esos momentos, no estamos solos, que Dios nos acompaña, que camina nuestro lado.
La segunda lectura ha sido, como la semana pasada, del Apóstol Santiago. Como entonces, llama la atención de sus cristianos sobre una realidad que no pueden olvidar: que la fe ha de ir acompañada de las buenas obras; que no basta con decir que creemos, que somos creyentes en Dios, si, a la par, no ayudamos al necesitado, al que pasa hambre, al que vive en la pobreza. Fe en Dios y amor solidario y efectivo a los hermanos son dos cosas que deben ir profundamente unidas.
El relato del evangelio de San Mateo nos ha contado un episodio en el que los apóstoles tenían que responder a una doble pregunta de Jesús. Una, relativamente fácil: “¿Quién dice la gente que soy yo?” Otra, mucho más complicada y comprometedora: “Y vosotros, ¿Quién decís que soy yo?” Las dos preguntas son lanzadas también a los cristianos de todos los tiempos. También nosotros estamos llamados a responderlas con nuestra palabra pero, sobre todo, con nuestra vida. Jesús será, para nosotros, lo que diga nuestro modo de actuar.
