El Bienaventurado es Jesucristo. Los bienaventurados son los que viven unidos a Jesucristo, como los sarmientos a la vid. Esta unión es bienaventuranza o es, simple y llanamente, santidad. Y por eso que es santidad, en este día solemne de Todos los Santos, se nos proclama este manifiesto solemne de la felicidad verdadera.
No es excluyente afirmar que la felicidad verdadera solo se da en la unión real y personal del cristiano con el Dios encarnado. Y no es excluyente, porque nadie está excluido de la llamada de Dios a esta unión a la que podemos denominar santidad. Para entenderme y para que me entiendan de un modo sencillo, les voy a hablar de la bienaventuranza en la misa, en todas las misas: antes de acceder a la comunión, el ministro sagrado dice “dichosos los invitados a la cena del Señor”. En latín, beati. Esta invitación a la cena tiene un doble sentido: bienaventurados por estar llamados a participar del banquete del cuerpo y la sangre del Señor y bienaventurados por ser herederos del cielo. Bienaventurados en este mundo, porque por la eucaristía podemos compartir los mismos sentimientos de Cristo. Bienaventurados en el cielo, porque Dios lo será todo en mi. Un cristiano que no ahonda en esta doble perspectiva de su vida es un cristiano superficial.
¿Dónde está la bienaventuranza? Miremos a Cristo Jesús: sencillo, manso, sufriente, hambriento y sediento, misericordioso, casto, pacífico, perseguido… insultado, calumniado, azotado, coronado de espinas, crucificado. Crucificado, muerto y sepultado. Resucitado. Para mí, que la bienaventuranza expresa perfectamente el camino de Jesús: del cielo a Belén; de Belén a Egipto; de Egipto a Nazaret; de Galilea a Jerusalén. Y en Jerusalén, vía dolorosa. Y al final de este viacrucis, el lugar del cuerpo muerto se transforma en el lugar de la Resurrección. Y de allí, a Galilea y al Cielo. Es el itinerario del cristiano: ir y volver, negándose a uno mismo, para vivir y anunciar al que es la Vida, regresar a las entrañas misericordiosas de Dios una y otra vez. Es lo que han experimentado los santos.
María, santa entre los santos, nos da la mano en esta peregrinación hasta nuestra verdadera patria.
