4º DOMINGO DE CUARESMA
(Jn. 9,1-41.) Son muchos los detalles en los que nos podríamos fijar en este evangelio, pero llama la atención que en esta ocasión sea Jesús quien busque al ciego y no al contrario; es Él quien toma la iniciativa, quien se acerca al ciego para curarlo; el hombre solo tuvo que obedecer las palabras del Maestro.
Y resulta curioso porque la mayor parte de las veces son los enfermos quienes se acercan a Jesús para ser curados, o intermediarios para pedirle el favor a Jesús. Sin embargo esta vez, como en otros sábados, Jesús quiere curar por propia iniciativa al ciego.
Y desde ese momento, acosarán al hombre curado como a una presa de caza. Interrogatorios que buscaban culpar al ciego, a su familia y al que había curado en sábado, porque no era correctamente religioso curar en el día dedicado a Dios.
Ese profeta que curó al ciego, que por segunda vez se le acerca y le muestra que es el Hijo de Dios, se salta cualquier tipo de norma creada por los hombres. Prefiere salvar y dar la luz a quien le hace falta, y lo hace precisamente en sábado, porque es Señor del sábado.
¿Qué le importaba al ciego si era sábado o no? ¿Sería un pecador ese que le había curado? No podía ser; para el ciego, Jesús fue la luz, quien devolvió color a su vida y rostro a las personas que le rodeaban, fue luz en la que pudo descubrir el rostro compasivo de Dios y la ternura divina.
La fe de ese hombre va creciendo conforme se encuentra con Jesús; de llamarlo "ese hombre", pasando por "profeta" a confesarlo como "Hijo de Dios". Mientras tanto, la ira de los fariseos y la obstinación por las normas y el cumplimiento riguroso de la Ley, olvidando la compasión y la misericordia, iría creciendo poco a poco hasta rebosar.
También nosotros podemos ser curados en sábado, o en domingo, o cuando sea; también a nosotros se puede acercar Jesús y decirnos que vayamos a lavarnos de todo lo que nos impide ver la Luz. Sólo hemos de ir a la piscina y quitar nuestro barro para ver el mundo tal y como fue creado.
