Domingo de Pentecostés. Ciclo B.
¿Quién iluminará la mente y el corazón de aquellos que vivieron con Jesús durante su vida terrena? ¿Quién dará la fuerza y la palabra oportuna para transmitir el mensaje de su Maestro? Aquellos discípulos no iban a estar solos; les había prometido, y eso es lo que se celebra en esta fiesta de Pentecostés, que enviaría el Paráclito, el Espíritu, el Defensor. Al recibirlo, el testimonio que dan sobre Jesús se torna más auténtico y fiable, puesto que en su interior brilla el fuego del Espíritu Santo.
Parecía que habían sucedido cosas durante aquellos años de predicación del Nazareno, gestos y milagros, que no se comprendieron por completo; ¿por qué se había transfigurado? ¿por qué revivía muertos? ¿por qué hablaba de que el Mesías debía sufrir y resucitar al tercer día?
Sólo desde la experiencia de la Pascua de Resurrección y con la fuerza del Espíritu, todos estos gestos y palabras adquieren un significado más pleno y con un sentido más profundo. Era necesario todo esto para que la humanidad fuera reconciliada con Dios. Allí estaba la Verdad, la tenían ante sus ojos; pero tanto resplandor de luz cegaba incluso a los que la tenían tan cerca. El Espíritu daría de nuevo testimonio sobre Jesús, haría entender a los que creyeran, la misión del Hijo.
También el grupo de seguidores, que fueron tras Jesús y asistieron a sus discursos, milagros, gestos, modo de amar a los que le rodeaban, tendría la misión de dar testimonio. El testigo, el mártir, es aquel que entrega su vida en proclamar la Verdad que conoce y de la que está enamorado.
Mucho afirmó Jesús durante su vida y mostró quién era su Padre; pero aún quedaban misterios por entender; sería el Espíritu el que abriera los corazones de aquellos mártires y discípulos. Señor y Dador de Vida, el Espíritu Santo comenzó su misión de guía de la Iglesia, acompañando a aquella primitiva comunidad en el anuncio de la Palabra.
Hoy día, creer en la presencia del Espíritu es estar convencidos de que no estamos solos; junto a la presencia del Resucitado en medio de su Iglesia, de su Pueblo, los cristianos tenemos la firme convicción de que no predicamos por nuestros propios méritos, sino por la Fuerza que sólo nos puede provenir del Paráclito. Dejar que hablen sus palabras, en lugar de las nuestras, sería una buena dosis de humildad y una seguridad de que los demás creyeran en el Hijo único de Dios.
