VI Domingo de Pascua. Ciclo C
¡Qué hermosas las últimas palabras que deja Jesús a sus discípulos a modo de testamento poco antes de ir hacia la cruz! Lo más importante de su vida, sus últimos momentos, quiere reservarlos para transmitirles el mandamiento del amor y para darles su paz. Una hermosa lección la que nos deja este evangelio de Pascua.
El amor es consecuencia necesaria del discípulo de Cristo. Si no amamos del mismo modo que Él, falta algo importante dentro de nuestro camino de conversión. Somos templo del Espíritu Santo. Dios ha querido habitar dentro de nosotros, nos ha hecho hijos suyos, por pura iniciativa suya; por eso debemos ser reflejo fiel del Dios que vive en nuestros corazones. Debemos transparentar el amor de Dios.
Muchas veces decimos que en Cristo hemos sido salvados, que hemos ganado una nueva vida, que su muerte y resurrección han sido el detonante de la reconciliación definitiva. ¿Qué es la salvación sino precisamente la paz original, fundamental o, dicho de otra manera, la reconciliación del hombre con el único Dios Verdadero, el Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo? Sí, hemos sido salvados, Cristo ha hecho de mediador entre Dios y los hombres para que pudiéramos disfrutar de esa paz que sólo Él puede darnos.
Jesús es sabedor de que el mensaje que les está quedando a sus discípulos no lo habla por cuenta propia, sino por mandato del Padre que lo envió. Debe comunicarlo. Tiene que quedarles claro a sus discípulos, a su comunidad, a nosotros, Iglesia, que quien no le ama y sigue sus mandatos no es digno de Él, no permanece a su lado.
Lo irán entendiendo aquellos discípulos poco a poco; pero será el Espíritu Santo quien les abrirá el conocimiento para que, desde la resurrección, desde el gozo de esa nueva vida en Cristo, entiendan completamente el mensaje del evangelio, de la buena noticia. El Espíritu Santo es Señor y Dador de vida, bien lo entendieron aquellos hombres cuando, al descender sobre ellos en forma de lenguas de fuego, comprendieron y se les abrieron las mentes.
Y ahora les deja su paz, ese gran don mesiánico tan estimado por el pueblo de Israel y tan significativo dentro del lenguaje bíblico. Paz es ante todo, reconciliación; restablecimiento de la relaciones de amor entre Dios y su pueblo. No es conquista ni de la voluntad ni de la inteligencia humanas. Es ésta la paz que Jesús deja a sus discípulos. Es su paz. La única verdadera.
Esta paz poco tiene que ver con la ausencia de persecuciones y sufrimiento, La paz y la alegría son frutos pascuales, no paz pasiva ni alegría barata, sino resultado del esfuerzo y de la gracia.
Nos ha dejado su amor y su paz, ¿qué más podemos pedir?
