Él sabía lo que hay dentro de cada hombre
“Él sabía lo que hay dentro de cada hombre” y no dudó en, obediente a la voluntad del Padre, entregarse como ofrenda por muchos. De algún modo, el evangelio de este domingo es una profecía: así como Jesús purifica el templo de Jerusalén, quiere purificarte a ti que eres templo de su Espíritu. Así como dejó que su cuerpo–templo fuese destruido y lo levantó en tres días, quiere que compartas con él su muerte y su resurrección, su sufrimiento y su victoria, su pascua–paso, trasladándote del pecado a la gracia. Que seas, de verdad, lugar de la gloria del Padre, presencia en el mundo del Espíritu presente en tu persona.
Para ser presencia de Dios en el mundo es vital que, como afirma la tan poco utilizada antífona de entrada, que tengas los ojos puestos en él. Y, además, que practiques el ayuno, la oración y la limosna aceptables al Señor, pero no basta: es necesario que te dejes restaurar con su misericordia, aceptando la ciencia de su cruz, que, por otro lado, es escándalo para los judíos y necedad para los griegos. Aceptar la cruz para los que se dejen guiar por la naturaleza es imposible, por ello es necesario que penetres en el ámbito de la libertad, pasando por el umbral de la verdad. Es necesario algo de violencia. No de la violencia que desprecia a uno mismo o a los demás, sino de la que el deportista realiza cuando quiere superar una marca. O de la que un padre o una madre de familia necesitan para dormir menos, trabajar más y atender a sus hijos sin concesiones al egoísmo. Violencia de esa que brota del amor por los bienes de allá arriba y te lleva a renunciar a la honra o al prestigio o a la imagen que los demás tienen de ti o de tu sueldo, en favor de la imagen de amor que el Creador ha impreso en tu persona y del sello con el que el Espíritu ha marcado tu frente de hijo de Dios.
A primera vista, resulta difícil imaginar al que es manso y humilde de corazón, “haciendo un azote de cordeles” y “volcando mesas”. Lo entendemos y lo justificamos porque también nosotros somos eco de la escritura que afirma “ el celo de tu casa me devora”. Pero, casi siempre hay un pero, con demasiada facilidad lo aplicamos demagógicamente a los entornos de Lourdes o del Vaticano o, sin ir más lejos, del Pilar. También a los despacho parroquiales y a las propuestas de donativos por los servicios prestados. No es la mejor interpretación, pues convierte a Jesús en un mero agitador o en un loco o un administrador justiciero. El mensaje es muy alternativo: la misión de Dios–con–nosotros no es una misión mundana, sino dejarse triturar por el amor a la humanidad pecadora, descendiendo a los ínferos de los despreciados, levantándolos a la una vida nueva sin término. “Hablaba del templo de su cuerpo” y hablaba de tu vida y de la de todos “porque él sabía lo que hay dentro de cada hombre”: pecado y, aunque sea muy en el fondo, sed de eternidad, de vida en el Espíritu.
