SANTA MARÍA, MADRE DE DIOS
Ensalzamos con esta fiesta la dignidad de la Madre del Salvador. María: Madre de Dios, un hermoso titulo para una mujer muy especial. Al acercarse a comprobar la noticia, los pastores lo encuentran todo tal y como se lo había anunciado previamente el ángel de Dios: un niño envuelto en pañales y acostado en el pesebre; a su lado dos jóvenes: María y José (futuro hogar y escuela de familias creyentes).
Después de la aparición del ángel, seguro que surgirían comentarios de estupefacción y admiración por lo que se había dicho del Niño; había aparecido la Gloria de Dios, había nacido el Mesías, el Señor… y estaba delante de aquellos pastores, junto a su Madre, junto a José.
Pero resulta impresionante la actitud de María: guardaba y conservaba todas estas cosas en su corazón; no hubo jactancias ni enorgullecimiento, sólo admiración por lo que se decía. La humildad de María queda patente en esta escena. En ninguna ocasión en las que aparece nuestra Madre en los evangelios quiere hacerse notar. Siempre en un segundo puesto, siempre al lado de su Hijo, pero quedando muy claro su lugar: no es ella la Ungida, sino su Madre, no es tampoco la Luz, sino la Madre de la Luz.
Aquellos pastores que habían sido testigos privilegiados y escogidos por Dios para tal acontecimiento seguro que no cabían en su asombro: El Esperado ya estaba entre nosotros; la Salvación había llegado al mundo… Ante tal acontecimiento sólo les quedaba la adoración a Dios que había hecho realidad sus promesas.
Y nuevamente, como narra el final del evangelio, cumplen con lo prescrito por la Ley de Moisés: la circuncisión, símbolo de la alianza de Dios con su pueblo. Era el momento de ratificar lo que el arcángel les había anunciado: Jesús, sería su nombre; Dios habita y salva a su pueblo: Dios estaba en el mundo.
De toda esta escena, me quedo con el silencio de María, que guarda todo en su corazón; quizá aún sin entender nada de lo que estaba sucediendo, como cuando se le presentó Gabriel. Su humilde oración, su respuesta generosa y sin límites hizo posible que Dios se hiciera uno de nosotros. ¡Cómo no tributar este honor hoy a la Madre de Dios!
